アメリカのオハイオ州、レイノルズバーグ高校に留学中の稗貫真綸さんから第３回目の留学報告が届きました。

 

こんにちは！元気にしていますか?真綸です。最近のオハイオはとても天気がいいですよ！

私の前のレポートは2か月前でしたね。なので、今回はクリスマス、冬休み、新年について話すことが出来ます。私のレポート日程はタイミングが良くないので、どうしてもとっくに過ぎた話になってしまいます(笑)

 

とにかく、クリスマスは最高の日でした!!皆さんはもちろんプレゼントが気になりますよね?(笑)クリスマスツリーの下には80個以上ありました。(ちゃんと数えてみました(笑))12月の始めにすでにプレゼントを置き始めました。早すぎるというのは、分かっていますが置きました(笑)私はプレゼントを開ける日が楽しみでしょうがなかったです!!クリスマス・イヴはホストペアレンツと彼らの娘さん家族と過ごしました。子供が5人いたのですが、みんなプレゼントを開けるのが楽しみでご飯を急いで食べてました(笑)プレゼント時間になった時に、子供たちが走ってプレゼントに向かって行きました(笑)私もプレゼントを開けたのですが、なんと30個以上も貰いました!!信じられますか?日本では1個のプレゼントが、アメリカでは30個になりました(笑)何個かのプレゼントは私のほしいものを用意してもらいました。私はリュック、靴、福をお願いしました。中でもリュックはとても気に入っていて、学校用に使っています。皆さんは、私がハリー・ポッターを好きなのを知っていますか？最初のレポートでユニバーサルスタジオに行ったことについて話しました。ホストマザーが私に秘密で、スリザリンのＴシャツをクリスマスプレゼントとして買っていてくれていたんです!!嬉しさと同時に驚きもしました(笑)

クリスマスはホストファザーの家族と、私の家で小さなパーティーを開きました。プレゼントをそれぞれ持ち寄って”ホワイト・エレファント”と言うゲームをしました。ルールは全員が数字の書かれた紙を1枚とり、1番から順にプレゼントを選びます。選んだプレゼントを全員の前で開けて、自分がどんなプレゼントをゲットしたかを見せます。２人目以降は、新しいプレゼントを選ぶこともできますが、自分より前の人のプレゼントを奪い取ることもできるんです!!なので、番号が後半の人ほどラッキーなんですよ!私はディフューザーをもらうことが出来ました。とてもいい匂いなんです^^今年のクリスマスはアメリカらしい過ごし方をできました。

 

新年はと言いますと、何もしませんでいた。いつも通りの日を過ごしました。しかし、雑煮を作りましたよ!ホストペアレンツは餅の食感を気にいってくれました。学校は１月４日に始まりました。冬休みが２週間しかなかったことにとても驚いています。もっと休んでいたかったです(笑)でも、冬休みが短い分、夏休みは３ヶ月もあるんですよ。それは、それで長すぎると思うのですが(笑)

 

最近、本当に学校生活を楽しんでいます。友達、先生が何を言っているかが理解できるので、授業に参加することが出来て、会話に参加することもできます。本当に心地良いです。約５か月を過ごしましたが、４か月後には帰国しなければなりません。時間はすぐに過ぎてしまいます。私は本当にホストペアレンツ、友達、学校、そしてオハイオが大好きです。時間を無駄にしないで、残り４か月しっかり過ごそうと思います!!

Hi guys!! How is it going? I’m good 😀 It’s me, Marin. These days, Ohio is so nice weather. I love it!!

 

My last report was 2 months ago. So I can talk about Christmas, Winter Break, New Year even already passed away. lol Cuz my report day isn’t decided good day. lol

 

Anyway, Christmas was awesome day!! I guess you guys want to know about Christmas presents. There were more than 80 presents under the Christmas tree. We put presents on floor from head of December. I know it’s too early. But we did. I couldn’t wait opening that. Then on Christmas Eve, I had dinner with my host parents, their daughter’s family. There were 5 kids, they were so excited about getting present. They were eating dinner so fast. Finally present time came, kids forwarded to Christmas tree. That was so funny.lol Everyone including me started unwrapping present. I got bunch of presents that more than 30!! Can you guys believe it? I can only get a present in Japan. I mean I was so glad!! Some of them were ordered by me. My host mom asked me “What do you want for Christmas?” I ordered a backpack, some clothes, shoes. Now I’m using the backpack for school. I like it so much. Do you guys know I went to Universal Studios in Florida before? I talked about it in my 1st report. Anyway, I wanna say I love Harry Potter. My host mom absolutely knows about that. She gave me a Slytherin T-shirt for me!! I didn’t know that she bought it when we went to Univesal Studios. I was surprised. And I spent Christmas day with my host dad’s family. We gathered at my house. We played White Elephants that a game for getting presents. How to play is everyone get a piece of paper that written number of your turn. Then 1st person choose a present of all present. The person opens it in front of everyone and keep it. Next person has two choices that open a new present or steal 1st person’s present. That means if your number is near last number you can choose present what you want of all presents. At this game, I got a diffuser that is nice smell. I had wonderful Christmas.

 

What about New Year? We did celebrate nothing. Just spent a day like usually day. But I made 雑煮. My host parents like it. They tried it very very first time. School started 4th Jan. I can’t believe that. Winter break was only 2 weeks. I needed more rest. lol It was too short!!! On the other hand, summer vacation is about 3 months. That’s why winter break is too short.

 

These days, I’m really enjoying my school life. I can understand what friends and teachers are saying even not perfect. So I can join class, and talk. That makes me feel good! I spent about 5 months here. That means I’ve gotta back to Japan after 4 months. I think time goes so quick. I really like my host parents, friends, school, and Ohio. I don’t wanna waste this time. I’m gonna spend last 4months hard for me.
