Hello! It’s Riko from Michigan : )
Last week, graduation was going on! My host sister, Sam graduated Kent City High School!! I was so glad to have perfect host sister.
My host family held my going away party last week. Many of my friends came over and spent good time! They gave me presents and letter a lot. I couldn’t even explaining my feeling because of crying. But I completely spent blessed time that night. We did burn fire, fireworks, and game. These days many seniors students are going on there graduation party. My host sister is going to hold soon : )
After the graduation, all seniors went to the senior bush. It’s like a trip but only one night! I went to there with them even though I’m junior : ) We had dinner at the very nice beach and went to athletic gym at midnight! There were pool, saunas, hot tab, soccer place, rockcriming, and basketball court. That night was blessed!! I’ll never forget that time I spent with them.
By June 10th, I’m done with high school! The last three days of school, I had the final exam! I took Economics, Psychology, biology, Math, U.S. History, and English10! After we finished the all classes, we screamed like crazy! And I went to the teachers to tell thank you for teaching many things. I’m so happy I met wonderful family, teachers, and friends who made me become confidence myself in this year. I wish I could spend time more with my friends. But I’m also pretty excited to see my family and friends!
Looking back from now, my exchange year was adventure! Because I experienced many things. Studying and playing sports were harder than I was expecting and imagining, but those have been my worth thing. And those will remind me I spent good time in the U.S. I think I could not have done this if I didn’t play sports and their supporting. I did track and soccer for spring sports. My friends in the U.S. are my precious people. Practice after the track and then soccer, after the track meet and then soccer practice… They were going on every day. But thanks for the good teammates and coaches, I could finish my exchange year with awesome people! There is no regret to do in the U.S. I’m also thankful to my family in Japan. After I get in Japan, I’d tell my parents to thank you.
The most important thing that I want to tell is not to stop challenging anything. Even that way is hard, everything is going to be connected to the your way or the future. This is what I’ve been believing while I was staying. I’ll keep trying anything! And maybe I wish I’ll come back to the Michigan someday!
