カナダに留学中の塚田真子さんから第１回目の留学報告が届きました。

塚田真子皆さんこんにちは。カナダのBritish Columbia州に留学している塚田真子です。

 

私は7月27日に日本を出発し、Vancouverで一か月語学学校に通いました。その後Vancouverから車で１時間３０分のChilliwackというところで学校に通っています。

 

Vancouverでの生活では、ホストファミリーが韓国の方だったため、日本食に近いご飯を食べることが出来ました。また、私のほかにも留学生が３人いたためその子たちとVancouver巡りなどをすることが出来ました。語学学校では日本人学生が多かったため、カナダにきて不安なことも多かったですが素早くなじむことができ、高校に行く前の良い準備期間になりました。

 

そしてChilliwackでの生活は、Host fatherとHost motherの二人暮らしの家で生活することになりました。Host fatherは料理がうまくよくマフィンを作ってくれたり、湖などの場所にも連れて行ってくれたりします。Host motherは高校の先生で私が学校でわからないことがあったときにすぐ教えてくれるなどすごく優しいです。また私以外にもう一人スペインの留学生がいます。彼女はとてもフレンドリーで、私が英語を理解できなかったときにやさしく説明してくれる優しい子です。高校に入学して早くも１か月が経とうとしているところですが、たくさんのインターナショナル生やカナダの生徒と関わることが出来ています。まだ英語力がすごく上がっているわけではないので、話すときに伝わらないこともありますがみんな優しく接してくれます。授業は日本ではない陶芸のクラスを受講することが出来、とても楽しく授業を受けています。他の授業は新しい単語が毎時間出てきて大変ですが、どの先生も優しく教えてくれて順調に授業を受けられています。

 

私の留学の目標は英語力を上げることはもちろんのこと多くの人と出会い、いろいろな経験をして自分に自信がつく人になりたいです。

 

Hello, my name is Mako Tsukada and I’m studying abroad in British Columbia, Canada.

 

I left Japan on July 27^th and went to a language school in Vancouver for a month. After that, I’m going to a school in Chilliwack, which is 1 hour and 30 minutes by car from Vancouver.

 

In Vancouver, I did a homestay with a Korean family, so I was able to eat food like Japanese food. I also can tour Vancouver with three other international students who were also my host family. I was worried about being to Canada, which I was not used to, but I was able to fit in quickly because there were many Japanese students at the language school. It was a good preparation period before going to high school.

And life in Chilliwack, the host father is a good cook and often makes muffins and takes me to the lake and other places. The host mother is a high school teacher. She is a good person to helps me out when I’m have questions with school stuff. I also have another student from Spain. She is very friendly and kind enough to explain to me when I don’t understand English. It has already been a month since I started high school, and I have been able to meet many international and Canadian students. My English is not yet very good, so there are some things they cannot understand when I speak, but they are very kind to me. I can take classes in ceramics, and I am really enjoying the class. In other classes, I must learn new words, but teachers help me, and I take the classes smoothly.

My goal for studying abroad is not only to improve my English, but also to meet many people, experience many things, and become a person who has self- confidence.
