アメリカに留学中の梅野　桃花さんから第1回目の留学報告が届きました。

Hi everyone! How are you doing? 
皆さんこんにちは！桃花です！私は今コロラド州のBerthoundという小さな町に住んでいます。周りには大きな建物が何もないので空がとても広くて朝焼けと夕日がとってもきれいなんです！私はここが大好きです。

まずオハイオでの１０日間の研修についてお話します。研修では英語やアメリカの歴史などの勉強をしましたが沢山観光したり遊んだりもしました！ウォーターパークに行ったりカヌーに乗ったり本当に楽しかったです。同じ北星の生徒もいましたが他の県からの子とも仲良くなれたしとても良い思い出を作ることが出来ました。ファミリーもとてもいい人たちで前に北星の先輩がステイしていたり何人か留学生を受け入れていたので私の事をとてもよく理解してくれて宿題を手伝ってくれたりテレビを見ながら沢山お話しました。また、２人のブラザーともテレビゲームをしたりおもちゃで遊んだりお絵かきしたりしました。マザーから２人は養子だということやアメリカの養子制度について聞かされた時はとても悲しい気持ちになりましたが自分の知らない事が知れてよい勉強になりました。
そんな10日間の研修はあっという間に終わり最後にマザーに空港で「あなたならきっと出来るわ」と言われお別れのハグをした時は涙が出そうでした。本当に最高の10日間でした！

そして今はコロラド州のBerthound というところにいます。Denver空港に着くとホストマザーとシスター２人が出迎えてくれました。花束とぬいぐるみを貰いそれを持って空港を移動しているとすれ違う人みんなに「Are you foreign exchange student？Welcome to Colorado!」と言われて少し恥ずかしかったけどとても嬉しかったです。
ファミリーはファザー、マザー、２４歳と１５歳のシスターで一緒に暮らしていて少し離れた所に２８歳のブラザー、２６歳のシスターが住んでいます。よく家に遊びに来るので家が賑やかでとても楽しいです。週末はショッピングに行ったり夜遅くまでみんなでトランプをしたりゲームをしたり映画を見たりしています。みんな日本に興味を持っていてくれて「これ日本語で何ていうの？」とよく言われます。教えてあげると何回もリピートしていてとても嬉しそうで私も嬉しいです。特にブラザーと１５歳のシスターは日本や日本語が大好きで「Momo! この日本語あってる？」と聞いてきます。２人ともすごく日本語が上手です。​​​​いつもファザーのジョークに笑わされていてマザーもとっても優しくてシスター２人とは女友達のようにぺちゃくちゃ喋っています。上のシスターのボーイフレンドもよく遊びに来て一緒にテニスしたり卓球をしたりみんな仲良しで私はここのfamilyが本当に大好きです。
私は１５歳のシスターと一緒にBerthound High School という学校に通っています。人数はそれほど多くはないです。私はMarching Band, Drawing, English, Geometry, Modern America, Choir のクラスを取っています。Marchig Bandで私は楽器は弾きません。カラーガードをしています。シスターも一緒にやっているのですが、カラーガードのメンバーはもちろんMarching Band でも沢山の友達が出来ました！大会や大きなフェスティバルで演奏が終わったときにGood job Momo！と言ってくれたりYou are awsome! high five!と声をかけてくれて本当に嬉しいです！他の授業で仲良くなった子も廊下ですれ違った時にHi Momo!と挨拶してくれます。そして私はアニメclubに所属しています。シスターがアニメが好きでclubに入っていて私も入りました。そこでも友達が出来ました。他には地域のSwimming team に入る予定です！水泳は一番長くやっていて得意なスポーツなので今から楽しみです！
この時期はホームカミングがあったりfootball gameでMarching をしたり街中をパレードしたりとても楽しかったけどとても忙しかったです。ホームカミングweekでは毎日コスプレをしました。Disney Day で私は白雪姫になって登校しましたがそれで１日過ごすので結構恥ずかしかったです。Night Danceも大盛り上がりで夜中まで踊りまくりました。

そして昨日（１０月２日）は私の誕生日でファミリーと動物園に行ったりお寿司を食べました。お寿司屋さんでは店員さんがhappyBirthdayの歌を歌いながらロウソクのついたデザートをサプライズで持ってきてくれ、他のお客さんも一緒に歌ってくれておめでとうと言ってくれました。その後家でもサプライズで大きなケーキを用意してくれていてHappy Birthdayの歌を歌ってくれました。ロウソクの火を消して暗くなった部屋の電気をつけると目の前に沢山のプレゼントがあって本当に驚きました！アメリカの学校の友達や日本の友達、家族、いろんな人に祝ってもらえて本当に幸せな誕生日でした。

まだまだ書きたい事は沢山ありますが今回はこの辺で。次回のレポートも読んでくれると嬉しいです。それではまた。

Hi everyone! How are you doing? I’m Momoka. I live in Colorado now. This place is very small but there are not big buildings so sky is wide and beautiful!  I love here so much! 

First, I’ll talk about our 10days language camp. I studied English and American History in language camp, but also I enjoyed tourism.I went to water park and canoeing.I really enjoyed! There were Hokusei girls but I could make other prefecture friends. I could make amazing memories. Also, my host family was nice. They are kind and understood my feeling. They gave help my homework and we talked a lot watching TV. I played TV game,watch TV, and drew picture with my young host brother. The 2  boy are not real child. When I heard that from mother, I was so sad, but I could learn.
Language camp finished so earlier in Ohio. When my host mother said and hug ” You can do it. Don’t be afraid.”, I was going to cry. It was the best of 10 days.

Then, I’m in Berthound, Colorado now. My host mom and 2 sisters greeted me at Denver airport. I got animal stuff and beautiful flower. Everyone said me ” are you foreign exchange student? Welcome to Colorado!” so I was a little bit embarrassed but happy. There are father, mother, 24 years old sister, and 15 years old sister in our family. I live with them. Also 28 years old brother and 26 years old  sister lives other place in  Colorado. But they often come my house, so it be fun.
I go to Bertohound High School with my 15 years old sister.  There are not  so many people. I taking  marching band class, Drawing class, English class, Geometry  class, Modern america class and Choir class. In Marching band, I don’t play instrument. I play  color guard with my sister, so I could make many friends in Marching Band. When we finished tournament or big festival, people said to me “Good job Momo!” and ” You are awsome!” so I was really happy.
Other friends said to me ” Hi Momo!” when we met corridor.
Also I belong to Anime club because my sister really likes Anime. I could make friends in Anime club too. Therefore, I’m gonna join swimming team, because I can swim well and swimming is my favorite sports. I’m looking forward to join team and make more friends!

Recently, I was so busy, because there were homecoming, football game and parade. I have to play color guard. It  was so fun and little bit tired.
In homecoming week people  cosplay everyday. In Disney Day I became White Snow. It was very pretty but I was embarrassed because  I had to wear whole day. Night Dance was awsome too. I danced until midnight.

Yesterday( Oct/2nd) was my birthday! I went to the zoo and ate sushi. At sushi restaurant, clerks brought surprise  dessert with the candle, and sang Happy Birthday song with other customer. They also celebrated me. 
Therefore, at home my family prepared big birthday cake with candle for me, and sang Happy birthday. when I turn off candle right, and turn on room electrical, there were many birthday presents. I was so surprised  but so glad.
I gave celebrated from American school friends, Japanese friends, my family, and many people. My  seventeen birthday was the most amazing!
