アメリカに留学中の 高田京美 さんから第三回目の留学報告が届きました。

みなさんこんにちは。ニューヨーク州のイーストオーロラ高校に通っている高田京美です。
レポートがとても遅れてしまいすみません。今回は学校生活についてと、ホストファミリーとのフロリダ旅行についてお話をします。

まずはじめに学校生活について話します。１月の下旬から、後期の授業が始まりました。私は新しく政治の授業と社会学の授業を取っています。
政治の授業は、アメリカの政治について勉強したり、アメリカの政治についてディスカッションをしたりします。政治の授業は単語がとても難しく、先生の言っていることや、ノートに書かれてることは全くわかりません。でも、電子辞書を使ったり、先生や友達に聞いたりしながら授業についていこうと頑張っています。アメリカの人は政治に関心がある人が多く、ディスカッションの時はみんなとても発言が多いです。これから留学をひかえている人、留学をしたい人はディスカッションの授業で自分の意見をきちんと伝えられるように練習しといた方がいいと思います。社会学は倫理の授業に近いのかなと思います。ビデオを見て、先生が用意したプリントを解くなどのことをします。ビデオを見る時は全神経を耳に集中させます。聞き取れないものは友達が毎回助けてくれます。アメリカの人はとてもいい人ばかりで、質問などをするととても快く答えてくれます。

冬の部活もチアに参加しました。冬はバスケットボールの応援、そしてチアの大会がありました。バスケットボールの試合は週に1回ありました。バスケットボールの試合は私の毎週の楽しみでした。アメリカのバスケットの試合はとても迫力があり、毎回とても楽しかったです。
特に、背の大きい選手がダンクシュートをしたり、ゴールから遠いいシュートが決まると会場中が応援している人たちの声援でいっぱいになります。私はホームゲームで私のチームが負けたところを見たことがありません。選手全員が一生懸命プレーをしているから、たまにチアをするのを忘れそうになります（笑）

アメリカのチアの大会はとてもすごいチームばかりです。バク転やバク宙、人を上にあげたりと、とても見入ってしまいました。最後の大会が終わるととても悲しくなってしまいました。秋、冬のシーズンでチアをやって、もうアメリカでチアをすることがないと考えるととても悲しいです。たくさんの思い出を作ってくれたチームのみんなにはとても感謝しています。

次にホストファミリーとのフロリダ旅行についてお話しします。私の学校は２月の下旬に１週間休みがありました。その１週間で私はホストファミリーとフロリダのディズニーランドに行ってきました。フロリダまではファザーとマザーが運転してくれるキャンピングカーで行きました。フロリダにはディズニーのパークが４つあります。私は４つのパーク全てに行きました。マジックキングダムは東京ディズニーランドとほとんど同じ乗り物がたくさんあって、ハリウッドスタジオは小さい子でも楽しめるものが沢山あります。エプコットはいろいろな国のゾーンがあって、そこには日本のものが売っている店や、日本食を食べれる場所がります。エプコットはたくさんの日本人の人が働いていて、何度も話しかけられました。最後はアニマルキングダムです。アニマルキングダムは動物がたくさんいて、乗り物も楽しむことがでる、大人も子供も楽しめるパークです。日本にない乗り物や、景色、食べ物をたくさん食べることができたのでとても楽しかったです。私は、小さい頃からディズニーがだいすきなのでフロリダのディズニーに行けたことはとても嬉しく、そしてとてもいい思い出ができました。ホストファミリーにとても感謝しています。帰りの車はとても疲れていたのでほとんど寝てしまい、景色を見たり、宿題をすることはできませんでした。なので、残りの休みの日に終わらせるのが大変でした。

私の留学生活も残り３ヶ月となってしましました。この７ヶ月はとても進むのが早く感じられました。ファミリーや友達、学校の先生に支えがあったからこそ、今元気に生活ができるのだと思います。残りの３ヶ月も充実した留学生活を送れるように頑張ります。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　高田京美

Hi guys, I’m Kyomi Takada, and I’m staying New York state. I’m sorry too late to turn in this report. I’m going to talk about my school life and Florida trip with my host family.
First one is my school life. The end of January, our high school started second semester. I’m taking two new classes. It is Government and Sociology. Government is study about American government and do discussion with classmate. Government class is really hard because of the political language is hard to understand. I can’t even take my notebook, because my teacher is talks really fast. But I use dictionary or ask my friends and try do my best. American students are interested in American government and they have their opinion. So when we do discussion, people speak really aggressively. If you want to do study abroad, you should practice to think and say your opinion. I think sociology is kind of ethics. We just watch movie and solve the work sheet which make my teacher. But listen and understand the movie is still difficult for me. If I can’t find answer, friends are helping me. American students are really nice, so if you can’t figure out the question, you should talk to your friends.
I did cheerleading in winter season. We cheered for basketball and we had competition for cheerleading in this season. Basketball games were once a week. I like basketball game so much because all game is really powerful. When the tallest player made point by dunk shoot, everyone who cheering my high school are screaming. I have never seen loose game when they played home high school. Sometimes I forgot to do cheer, because I really focused on the basketball game. American cheerleaders are really wonderful. They can do backflip and throw the people. I could watch so many good teams. Last competition I felt really sad. I was cheerleader in fall and winter season, almost are same member. They are really nice and funny people. They made so many good memories. I had a great time with teammates.
Second I will talk about Florida trip with my host family. My high school had a break the end of February. We had one week break so we went to Florida Disney. My host mother and father drove camping car to Florida. Florida Disney have 4 different parks. Hollywood studio, Epcot, magic kingdom and animal kingdom. Hollywood studio is the first park in Florida. This park have many musical attractions. Magic kingdom is same as Tokyo Disney land. They have Cinderella castle. At night Cinderella castle was really beautiful. Epcot have so many different countries zones. They have Japanese zone, and a lot Japanese people working there. Japanese zone selling so many Japanese stuff. Such a snuck, kimono, katana and so on. Animal kingdom have so many kind of animals. So people can enjoy animals and attractions. I really like Disney, so I’m glad to go Florida Disney and I could make so many memories with my family. I’m really appreciate to my host family. When I go back to New York, I was tired so I couldn’t see landscape and do my homework. I had a great time.
I have only 3 months left to stay here. I feel that this 7 months are going really fast. I can’t stay here without my host family, friends, teachers and my Japanese family. I’ll do my best to have a great time.
