皆さんこんにちは。アメリカ合衆国のモンタナ州ユリーカに留学中の益子珠里です。皆さんはいかがお過ごしでしょうか。これは私の最初のレポートです。まだまだ拙い英語ですみません。まず最初に、オハイオ州で行われた語学研習について報告します。オハイオ州での研修授業はNew Songという教会でアメリカ史を習いました。英語で授業を受けることはとても大変でしたが、楽しかったです。研修中はさまざまな場所へ行き、日本では体験できな様々なことをしました。消防署、警察署、Watkins Memorial High School、Ohio villageに行ったり、市長にお会いしたり、カヤックやカヌー、Zumbaを踊ったり、Zoombezi Bayで泳いだりと、とても楽しい時間を過ごしました。ホストファミリーもとても素敵な方で、毎日が充実していました。本当に研修が終わるのが早かったように思います。このように、楽しい時間はとても早く過ぎていくものですね。この10日間は１日１日が充実していて環境にもとても恵まれていました。私たちの研修に携わってくださった先生方、コーディネーターの方、ホストファミリー、友達には本当に感謝しています。ありがとうございました。

ここからは、本拠地であるモンタナ州ユリーカでの留学生活について報告します。研修終了の次の日、私は夜中の三時に起床しモンタナ州ユリーカに移動する必要がありました。私にとって飛行機で一人で移動するのは初めてで、とても怖かったです。私は一人で移動できるのか、道に迷うのではないかとずっと心配していました。私が心配した通り私は道に迷いました。ですが、私は人に道を尋ね無事に乗り継ぎの飛行機に乗ることができました。道に迷っていた私を助けってくださった方には本当に感謝しています。空港には、ホストファミリーが迎えに来てくれていて、私はホッとしました。私はとても緊張していて、初日はほとんど自分から話すことができませんでしたが、ホストファミリーが優しく、面白い家族なので私は徐々に自分から話しかけれるようになりました。初日の夜、私はホストブラザーのフットボールの試合を見に行きました。フットボールを見るのは初めてで、ルールも全くわかりませんでしたが面白かったです。私が通っているLincoln County High Schoolの生徒数は３５０人と少なくみんなとても仲がいいです。友達はできましたが、まだ自分から話しかけることがあまりできません。私は未だに自分が英語を間違えることを恐れて、英語を言葉に出せないことが多いです。ですので、恥ずかしさを捨てなければならないと思いました。まだ私の留学生活は始まったばかりですが、１日１日を大切にし、日々努力します。間違いだらけの私のレポートを読んで下さってありがとうございました。次回のレポートは今回のレポートよりはるかに良いものとなるでしょう。では次回のレポートでお会いしましょう。 益子珠里

Hello everyone.　I’m Juri Masuko from Eureka, Montana USA. How are you doing？ This is my first report.　I am sorry that I am poor at English. First, I will report about language camp in Ohio. I learned American History at the church called New Song. Taking the class in English was very hard, but it was fun!　We went to various places and　I did many things I have never experienced in Japan. We went to fire department, police station, Watkins Memorial High School, Ohio village, We met the mayor, we canoed and kayaked, we danced Zumba and we swam in Zoombezi Bay. I had a really good time.　My host family was very nice and it was very fulfilling. So it was really early for the language camp to finish. In this way, the fun time goes very fast. This 10 days was  really  fulfilling and I was blessed with a good environment. I am very grateful to the teachers, coordinators, host families and friends who took part in our language camp. Thank you so much!

Next, I will report on my study abroad life in Eureka, Montana. The next morning after the language camp finish date, I woke up at presumably around 3 a.m. and needed to move to Eureka, Montana. It was my first time to move alone by airplane and I was very scared. I was worried about what will become of me. As I expected, I got lost. But I asked person the way and I was able to catch a airplane connecting without any problems. I really appreciate the person who helped me.  My host family came to pick me at the airport, so I was relieved. I was so nerves on the first day, so I could hardly talk to my host family from myself but my host family is kind and interesting family so I can gradually speak to my host family from myself. On the first evening, I watched my host brother’s football game. It was my first time to watch a football game and I didn’t know the rules of football at all but it was so fun.

The number of students of Lincoln county high school I am passing is as low as 350 people and everyone is very close. I have made friends but I can hardly speak from myself yet.　I still fear that I make mistakes English and I often cannot speak English. So I think I have to abandon shame.　Although my Studying abroad life has just begun, but I value my day a day and I will make every effort   every day.
