アメリカのオハイオ州、レイノルズバーグ高校に留学中の金元まり子さんから、第1回目の留学報告が届きました。

 

こんにちは。まり子です！私はオハイオ州にいます。すでに２ヶ月が経ち、たくさんの経験をしました。 最初に、ホストファミリーについて話します。私のファミリーは、お父さん、お母さん、そして3人の弟がいます。弟は養子です。彼らは毎週水曜日に親に会い、週末に電話をしています。それは私を悲しくさせます。なぜなら養子を身近に感じていなかったからです。私の母は、料理が上手です。そのため２ヶ月で6キロ増えました。ですが痩せようとは思いません！アメリカの食べ物は最高ですね。私の父はジョークが好きですがとてもつまらないです。全世界の父親に共通していますね。いつも母と鼻で笑っています。私のファミリーはカレッジフットボールが大好きです。毎週土曜日に、試合をみています。ミシガンがオハイオ州のライバルです。ですので、家族は「バッドバッドミシガン」と言ったり、テレビでミシガンをみたら「オーー、バッドガイズ」と言っています。私はオハイオ州を応援しています！私はたくさんの場所にファミリーと行きました。私は彼らが大好きで、またこの家にいることを幸せに思います。私は家族のひとりになることができました。 次に、学校について話します。私の学校はとても大きく、たくさんの生徒がいます。私は、英語、アメリカ史、生物理論、政治、数学(Geometry Enrichedの正しい訳がわかりません)を取っています。私は大変だとは感じていません。なぜなら、勉強すること自体が日本にいるときから大変だったからです(笑)私はバレーボール部に入っていました。彼らはとても強く、みんな背が高いです。私はたくさんの種類のポジョンをしました。すごく難しかったです。私はトライアウトテストを受けず、またコミュニケーションも取れないのに彼らはとても優しかったです。彼らのおかげで、私はたくさんの友達を作ることができました。何日か前にシーズンが終わりました。最後の試合はすべてのチームが勝つことができたので嬉しかったです！バレーボールは、ストレス発散法のひとつだったので私は悲しいです。今月末には、宴会があります。私は楽しみますし、泣いてしまうと思います。それくらい私はチームが大好きです！先週の土曜日は、ホームカミングがありました。私は彼氏と行きました(ジョークです)。 3時間踊り続けました。本当に楽しかったです！ 北星バレーボール部の皆さんおめでとう。本当に嬉しいし、みんなのことを誇りに思います。結果を聞いたときに、日本に帰ってみんなに会いたくなりました。これからも全力を出し続けてください。私はいつでも応援しています。 アメリカに来てから、大好きな父親と母親からもらった目が細くなる笑顔に何度も助けられました。これからも笑顔を大切にして頑張りたいです。家族のみんな。北星の先生方。私を送り出してくれた皆さん。本当にありがとうございます。私はすごく元気です！読んでくださりありがとうございました。

 

Hello. I’m Mariko! How are you doing? I’m in Ohio state. I already spent 2 months and had many experiences. First, I’ll talk about my host family. My family is father, mother and 3 young brothers. This brothers are adopted child. They’re meeting to parents every Wednesday and talking on the phone every weekend.  It make me sad because I didn’t feel it near to my self. My mother is good at cooking. So I get 6kg at 2 months but I don’t think that lose weight. American foods are awesome. My father likes joke but it’s so dull. All world father are same. isn’t it? Every time me and mom treat a father with contempt. My family likes college football. Every Saturday we watch game. Michigan state is a rival in Ohio. So my family are everyday say “bad bad Michigan” and when look Michigan at the TV, they say “ohhhh, bad guys”. I’m supporting Ohio! I went to many places with my family. I love them and I’m so happy to staying this family. I could be family members. Next, I’ll talk about school. My school is huge and has many students. I take English, American History, Bioethics, Government and Geometry Enriched class. I don’t feel hard because l already feel to study hard that live in Japan. haha. I joined a volleyball team. This team is strong and many player has tall. I did many positions. It was difficult to me. I didn’t tryout test and can’t do communicate but they were so kind. Thanks for them I could make many friends. A few days ago, finished season. Last game all teams got win. So I’m really glad! I’m so sad because volleyball is one of a stress diverge. We have a banquet at end of the month. I’ll enjoy and maybe crying! Such love my team. Last Saturday was homecoming. I went to it with my boyfriend (It’s joke). I was dancing 3 hours. Japan’s high school has to do homecoming. It was really fun! Dear Hokusei G volleyball team member. Congratulations! I’m really glad and I proud of them. When I knew the result, I wanna back to Japan and meet guys. After this, please keep doing your best. I’m supporting every time.
