アメリカコロラド州のバーサッド高校に留学中の早弓結菜さんから第２回目の留学報告が届きました。

 

こんにちは。早弓結菜です。お元気ですか。私はとても元気です。アメリカに来てからほぼ4ヵ月が経ち、友達もできました。学校で時々一緒に遊んでいます。

 

9月～11月にかけては、たくさんの行事がありました。まずは友達と一緒にフットボールの試合に行きました。ルールが分からなかったので友達に教えてもらい、楽しい時を過ごしました。それからホームカミング・パーティーに行って、友達とダンスを踊ったり、たくさんの人たちとアニメのことを話したりしました。日本のアニメが好きな人たちがたくさんいて、私もアニメクラブに所属しています！クラブでは一緒にアニメを見たり、時々日本語を教えてあげたりもします。それから、友達とその家族と一緒に山登りにも行きました。私がとても速く登るので、友達が「どうしてそんなに早いの？もう疲れたわ」と言っていて面白かったです。そのあと彼女の家に行ってお泊りしました。たくさんおしゃべりをして、ハリーポッターを見て、とても楽しく過ごしました。ハロウィーンではフランスからの留学生とホストシスターと彼女の友達と一緒にトリックオアトリートして、お菓子やチョコレートをたくさんもらいました。それからホラー映画の「ポルターガイスト」も見ました。フランスではハロウィーンを祝う習慣がないらしく、私と彼女にとって初めてのハロウィーンだったので、とても楽しかったです！友達が、ピカチューがアメリカで一番人気のある日本のアニメキャラクターだと言っていたので、ピカチューに変装しました。

 

それから、ジャズバンドのコンサートやクワイアコンサートもありました。ソロパートを演奏した生徒もいて、とてもカッコ良かったです。私としては大成功だったんじゃないかと思います。クワイアでは、私はソプラノで、パート練習の時にはピアノの伴奏をして練習のお手伝いをしています。それから、ビッグニュースがあります！ソロのオーディションがあって、合格してソロパートを歌ったんですよ！とっても嬉しかったし、上手に出来ました。私はクワイアが大好きです！

 

でも、ATCテストという楽しくないテストもありました。これは大学に行くための2年生と3年生のためのテストで、私はその準備で疲れていて友達に「ACTテストのせいで、幽霊みたいになっちゃったわ」と言うと、友達の一人が「私もよ。全くもう」と言いました。私の学校では、大半の生徒が幽霊みたいになっていました。でもちょっと面白かったです。

 

 今はサブタイトルなしでテレビのお話が理解できているので、少しずつ私の英語は上手くなっていると思います。でも、英語を話すのはまだまだです。話せるようになるには時間がかかりそうです。でもフランスからの留学生や他の国からの留学生の英語はとても上達しています。皆地元の人たちともっと頻繁に話しているからだと思うので、私も頑張って話そうと思います。それでは、さようなら。

Hi! I’m Yuna Hayayumi. How are you? I’m pretty good.  It has been almost four months when I came to America. I made many friends! We sometimes play during class:)

 

I had many events in September, October and November! I went to Football game with friends. I didn’t know the rule so friends told me and hung out with them. It was really fun!  I went to Homecoming dance and I danced some friends and I talked to a lot of people about Anime. There are many people who like Japanese Anime and I’m in Anime club! We watch Anime and I teach Japanese sometimes. I also went up to the mountain with one of my friends and her family. I was walking fast so she was just like “Why are you so fast!? I’m tired!!”. It was funny:) After that, I went her home and we did sleep over. We talked a lot, watched Harry Potter. I had a very good time. For Halloween, I trick or treat with my friend from France, host sis and her friend and we got much candy and chocolate. We also watched scary movie “Poltergeist”. That was first Halloween for me and friend from France because she told me France doesn’t have Halloween and we had a wonderful time! Friends told me PIKACHU is the most popular Japanese anime character in America that’s why my costume was PIKACHU, not scary stuff:)

 

Also, I had Jazz band concert and Choir concert! In Jazz band concert, some students had solo parts. They are really good at playing and cool! I think we did fantastic.  In Choir, I’m in soprano and I can play the piano so when we practice in each part, I help practicing. And I have big news! We had tryout of solo and I got a solo!!:) I was sooo happy. We did awesome! I love Choir!

 

However, I also had not fun stuff “ATC test”. It is the test for junior and senior to go to college. I was very tired and I said to friends, “ACT test killed me so I’m a ghost now”. Then one of my friends said “me too. Oh, my friend,”  I think most students are ghosts in my high school:) It was a kind of fun.

 

I can tell that my English is improving little by little because I can understand the story of TV show without subtitles 🙂  However, I guess speaking in English is not improving. It still takes time to speak. But my friend from France and other exchange students from foreign counties English improve very much. I think they are talking to native people a lot more than me. So I try to talk to friends more. I can do it!  Bye!
