アメリカに留学中の後藤雲羽さんから第1回目の留学報告が届きました。

みなさん、こんにちは。後藤雲羽です。私はミシガンに滞在しています。第一回のレポートです。

これまでの一か月のアメリカ滞在はとても短いものですが、すべてのことが私にとって新しいことばかりで、私の人生の中で最も意味深いものとなりました。

ミシガンに来る前に、10日間のイングリッシュキャンプがミネソタでありました。私にとっては夢のようなときで、新しい友人との出会い、コンサートにいったり、初めてお寿司屋さんにホストファミリーと行きました。また、湖でボートにも乗りました。ファミリーには5人のかわいい子どもたちとファーザーとマザーとクラスメイトの柚奈も一緒でした。ミネソタを離れるときはそれはそれは悲しくて、もう泣きました。今も、そのホストファミリーとは連絡をとっています。

ミシガンに到着後、多くのことが起きました。わずか一週間でホストファミリーが変わるなんて考えもしませんでしたが、そのファミリーとはマキナック島に行きました。とっても素敵なところでした。もう一人のイタリアからの留学生と一緒に島中をタンデムバイクで飛ばしました。本当に素晴らしい時間でした。ホストファミリーの変更は私にとって多くのことを学ぶ機会でもあり、また、日本で自分がいかに恵まれていたかを認識する機会でもありました。

新しいホストファミリーは言葉に表すのが難しいくらい素晴らしいです。みんな Super なのです。ホストファザー、マザー、ブラザーとフランスからの留学生がいます。フランスからの留学生は日本の大ファンなので、日本出身であることで二人にはとても良い関係が築けています。新しい家族のみんなに巡りあえとても感謝しています。私の気分が落ち込んでいるときには勇気づけくれ、心穏やかにしてくれます。そして、これまでに私をこんなにも笑わせてくれる人たちにあったことがないくらいいつも笑っています。本当に素晴らい家庭です。

学校は始まったばかりなので、まだ慣れていません。でも、わからないことがあればすぐに誰かに聞けるし、友達もできました。きっと、これからドンドン良くなると、思っています。

Hello I am Mowa Goto! I’m staying in Michigan. This is my first report!!

The month I spent in America was short, but it was the most meaningful month of my life, because everything was new to me.

 Before I came to Michigan, I had an English camp in Minnesota for 10 days. It was like dream for me, I made new friends, went to a concert, went to a sushi restaurant with my host family for the first time, road the a boat on the lake and so on. I stayed with 5 sweet kids, father, mother, and Yuzuna who is my classmate. When I left there, I was so sad that I cried. I’m still keeping in touch with that host family!!

After that I arrived in Michigan safely, but I have been through a lot. I never thought I would change my host family after only about a week, but I went to Mackinac Island with them! It was very wonderful!! I and Sofia who is another exchange student from Italy went around the island on a tandem bike. It was such a great time! However changing host family was good lesson for me and I could realize how much I was blessed in Japan.

I can’t put it into words about my new host family. They are super people, father, mother, brother, and another exchange student from France. She is big fan of Japan! Because being from Japan there is good connection between us. I’m so blessed being surrounded by them. They comfort and encourage me when I’m feeling down,and I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone that made me laugh so much! I feel this is the best place ever.

 My school has just started, so I can’t get to used to it yet, but I can ask to someone when I don’t understand and I have some friends. I think it’s going to be better!!!
