大辻 恵里奈の留学レポート

私は２０１９年の夏、人生において忘れることのない大きな体験をしました。そもそも海外に行くこと自体私には初めての体験でした。その中で私は知らない人と一ヶ月間も暮らしていくことはできるのだろうか？現地の人と話せるだろうか? など沢山の不安がありました。しかし、私はワクワクする気持ちの方が大きかった様な気がします。

 

私のホストファミリーはマザーと猫が一匹でした。マザーは本当に優しい人で、英語が拙い私の言葉を理解しようとしてくれました。そのおかげで私はマザーと色々な話をする事が出来たと思います。そんな素敵なマザーとの思い出はたくさんあります。私はマザーと一緒に夕食を作っていました。夕食を作りながらお話をするのがとても楽しく、オーストラリアでの大好きな時間でした。マザーは色んな種類の夕食のレシピを用意してくれました。そのどれもが美味しかったです。中でも私は、ミートボールパスタが大好きです。オーストラリアでの食事は毎回美味しく今でも鮮明に覚えています（笑）また、デザートも一緒に作りました。中でもapple crumbleとAnzac cookieがお気に入りです。日本でも作ってみたいなと思うほど大好きです。

マザーは映画DVDをたくさん持っていたので様々な映画を見ました。初めのころは英語が本当に速くて全然わかりませんでしたが、最後の方には内容の大体を理解できました。テレビを見ることも多々ありました。驚いたことにオーストラリアはたくさんのテレビチャンネルがあり、その数おおよそ２５個です。種類も様々で、日本とは違い毎日映画が放送されていました。日本でも毎日映画を放送してほしいなと強く思いました。

 

次は学校について書いていきたいと思います。私はSalisbury East High Schoolへ通いました。制服はジャージっぽい感じで、とても暖かかったです。科目は、Math, English, PLP(Poweshiek Leadership Program), Science, HASS(ひたすらレポート書く科目)が必須で、Visual Art, Danceを選択で取りました。初めはDanceではなくPhotographyを取っていましたが、変えました。Mathはもう授業で習っていた範囲だったので、簡単でしたが問題文を理解するのが難しかったです。私の一番好きだった科目は、Danceです。みんなとコミュ二ケーションを取りながら踊ったり、Danceを作ったりしました。Danceはあまり得意ではありませんでしたが、この授業でDanceをする楽しさを感じることが出来ました。

学校の雰囲気は明るく、色んな生徒が私に話しかけてくれました。また学校についての様々なこと親切に教えてくれました。RecessというおやつタイムやCanteenという売店など学校には自分にとって新しい体験が多くありました。Lunch timeには学校の人達とvolleyballをしました。本当に楽しかったです！！

　また、学校の行事でChocolate FactoryとWild Parkへ行きました。Chocolate Factoryではチョコレートをたくさん試食しました。そこで日本人の友達が食べていたレインボーアイスがすごくおいしいのでおすすめです。Wild Parkではコアラを抱っこすることができました。初めてのコアラはふわふわでおとなしくて可愛かったです。カンガルーやワラビーも見ることができ、貴重な体験となりました。

 

もっと書きたいことはありますが最後に留学で学んだことについて書きたいと思います。

私が留学を通して学んだことは、自分から積極的に行動していくこと、ありがとうと笑顔を忘れないこと、しっかり自分の意見を持ち伝えることです。当たり前の事ですが、待っていても何も始まることはありません。友達も自分から話しかけにいかないと出来ません。私自身それをオーストラリアで何度も痛感しました。また、「ありがとう」と言う言葉はどこに行っても忘れてはいけない大事な言葉だと思いました。感謝の気持ちを忘れないというのも大事ですが私は感謝を伝えることの方が大事だと感じました。また留学をしてみたいなと強く感じました。

 

I had a great experience in this summer. In the first place, it was first thing for me to go abroad. So, I had many concerns. If I could live with people I don’t know. If I could talk with local people. But, exciting feeling was bigger than this.  But, exciting feeling was bigger than this.

 My host family is mother and cat. She was so kind. She tried to understand my poor English.

So I could talk about many things with her. I have a lot of memories with my lovely mother.

We made dinner together every day. I loved this time. Because I could talk with her while we make dinner. And she has prepared many

Especially I liked meatball pasta. Also, we made dessert too. My favorite desserts are Apple Crumble and Anzac Cookies. I feel like to make these in Japan.

 

 Mother has many types of movies. So I watched many movies. At first, I couldn’t understand and listen because it was fast. But I could almost understand at last. I watched TV a lot too. Australia has many kinds of channels. Number of this was about 25!! I was so surprised! And Movies are broadcasted every day in Australia. They should be broadcasted every day in Japan too.

Next I’m going to write about school. I went to “Salisbury East High School”. Uniform looked like jersey and it was very warm. Math, English, PLP, Science and HASS (I wrote a report in this class. It was boring for me.) are required. And I chose Visual Art and Dance. Math was easy because I had learned. But it was a little difficult to understand questions. My favorite subject was Dance!! I took communication with friends and made dance. I’m not good at dancing. But I was able to feel joy of dancing in this time.

 

Vibe in the school was cheerful.  Many students have talked with me and taught me a lot of things. School in Australia was very difference from in Japan. It was new experience for me.

 I went Chocolate Factory and Wild Park on school events. I could hold a koala and see kangaroo and wallaby. So I was so happy.

 

Final, I am going to write what I have learnt. It is acting by yourself, never forget to smile and be thankful and saying your opinion.

I’d like to go study abroad again!
