アメリカのアイオワ州、バレー高校に留学中の板本遥南さんから第３回目の留学報告が届きました。

こんにちは、ハルです！日本を旅立ってから約６ヶ月半が経ちました。気づけばもう２月…長いようであっという間です！ちなみに、この前アイオワは−25度まで気温が下がりました。

１学期が終わり、２学期がスタートしました。今学期から卒業するために必要なgovernmentのクラスを受けています。宿題は自分で教科書を読んでノートを作ること。これがすごく大変で…でも、時間は掛かりますが勉強になります。私の先生は基本ホワイトボードに手書きという授業スタイルなのですが、正直字が綺麗な方とは言えないので「他の先生はパワーポイント使っているのに〜！」と心の中で毎時間嘆いています(笑) 凄く優しい先生なんですけどね！

JAPANESE FOOD DAY‼︎ ということで、この前お好み焼きと稲荷寿司を作りました。ホストファザーとマザーは凄く気に入ってくれましたが、シスターはどちらも口に合わなかったようです(笑) 今度はオムライスを作ろうかと計画中です！…え？誰が食べたいか？それはご想像にお任せします(笑)

「夢をみつける」これは私の留学の目的の１つですが、まだそれをみつけられていません。でも、夢(寝る時に見る)が日本語から英語に変わったように、私自身も少しずつではありますが変わっている気がします。成長している…と言った方が正しいかもしれません。それと、日本にいる時よりも”自分”と向き合う時間が増えました。ホストファミリーや友達と話す度にもっと自分の意思をしっかり持たなくては…と感じます。物事を深く考え、それを行動や声に表せるよう努力していきたいです！

今までの留学生活は楽しい事だけではなく辛い事も沢山ありました。ですが、その経験をしたからこそ成長することができ、今の私がいることを実感しています。私を成長させてくれたこの”留学”に感謝しています。

あと残り約４ヶ月。今ここにいられることへの感謝を忘れず、努力を重ね、自分の成長に繋げたいです！

Hi, how are you guys doing? About six and a half months have passed since I left Japan. I just noticed it’s already February. Time goes by quickly, doesn’t it? By the way, the temperature was -13°F(-25℃) a couple of days ago in Iowa.

The first semester is already over, and the second semester is starting. I’m taking a government class this semester because I have to take it to graduate Valley High School. Homework is reading the textbook and taking notes ourselves. It’s hard, don’t you think? It takes a long time, but it’s also helpful for learning English. My teacher’s handwriting is hard to read, so I think, “Why don’t you use power point?” whenever he writes something on the board. He is really nice though:)

The other day, I made Japanese food, Okonomiyaki and Inarizushi. The host parents liked them, but host sister didn’t like both though. I’m planning on making Omuraisu next time! Who wants to eat it? “ME” haha

One of the purposes of my study abroad is to find my dream. I still haven’t been able to find it, but I think I’m changing like I started to dream in English. I’ll keep thinking about my future. I also think about myself more than when I was in Japan. I’m trying to find and understand who I am. I think I have to have my own opinions whenever I talk with my host family or friends here. I should think more deeply about things and try to act accordingly.

Even though I experienced many bitter things so far, they are making me grow, so I’m thankful for this study abroad.

I’m enjoying my life in America and glad I’m here!

アメリカのオハイオ州、レイノルズバーグ高校に留学中の金元まり子さんから、第３回目の留学報告が届きました。

こんにちは！まり子です。みなさんお元気ですか？アメリカに来てから6ヶ月が経ちました。毎日楽しいです！

冬休みのことを話そうと考えていましたが、細かいことを思い出せないので軽く触れておきますね。クリスマスはもちろん素晴らしかったですよ。クリスマスイブに、ホストファザーと買い物に行きました。プレゼントの1つとして香水を探していたのですが、たくさんの種類の香水を嗅いだせいで頭痛と吐き気に襲われ、クリスマス礼拝に参加できなかったのがとても印象に残っています。ウェストバージニア州に旅行にも行きました。旅行先のホテルでオハイオの服を着ている全く知らない人とすれ違ったのですが、ホストマザーが突然その人に”OH(オーエイチ)”と言いました。そしたら相手は”OHIO(オハイオ)!”と返しました。このやり取りで私がどれほど感動したかきっとホストマザーにはわからないと思います。すごいと思いませんか？千葉県の見知らぬ方に突然”千！”と伝えて何人の人が”千葉！”と答えますかね？(笑)北海道の見知らぬ方に”北海！”と伝えたらなんて答えますかね(笑)？私は、アメリカのこの文化が大好きです。”スターウォーズ、フォースの覚醒”も観に行きました。アメリカの映画館は感情を声に出せるので最高です。例えば、ミレニアムファルコンが出てきたときに思わず歓声を上げてしまったのですが、周りのスターウォーズファンも拍手したり泣いていたりしていました。カウントダウンは静かに部屋で過ごしました。冬休みが終わるのは早かったです。

私はオハイオの州都であるコロンバスにオハイオの留学生と共に旅行に行きました。旅行の間はヨーロッパ圏からの英語が上手な留学生4人と一緒に時間を過ごしました。夜ご飯を食べていたときの話ですが、皆で話をしていたのですが、他の留学生が難しい単語を話したり、彼らの国それぞれの強い訛りがあったので、実際は全てを理解することは出来ませんでした。 そんなとき、イタリアから来た子が”もし、混乱してたり、助けて欲しかったらいつでも私たちに知らせてね。アジア圏の言語は英語との違いが大きいでしょ？”っと言ってきました。それを聞いたとき、嬉しかったし幸せでした。他にも、中国、台湾、韓国からの留学生にも会って、悩みを共有し合いました。彼らに会えて本当に本当に嬉しいです。

英語のクラスでは卒業に向けてのプロジェクトがあります。冬休み明けから始まり、それは私の将来についてまとめなければなりません。先生は毎週私たちにプロジェクトに向けての課題を出しますが、それがとても大変です。500ページ程の本を1週間で読めとか、将来に関係する人にインタビューをしろとか、将来の夢が決まっていない私にとっては本当に大変です。1番驚いたのは他の人たちが全員既に決まっていたことです。叶うかどうかは別として、自立していると感じましたし、かっこいいなと憧れも感じました。他のクラスも、なぜだかわかりませんが冬休み明けから全てのクラスでプロジェクトが始まりました。大変ですが、やるしかないです。

毎日、新しい経験や新しいことが起きるので、充実しています。幸せなことも辛いこともアメリカに来ていなければ体験できなかったことですので、全てが自分にとって良い経験になっています。

Hello! It’s Mariko. How are you doing? I passed 6 months since I came to here. I am having fun every day.

I wanted to talk about winter break but I cannot remember details so I’d like to talk a little bit. The Christmas was absolutely awesome. At the Christmas Eve, I went to shopping with my host father for buy host mother’s presents. One of the present, we looked some perfume but I got sick from many kinds perfumes. So I could not go to church. I went to West Virginia State. At the hotel, we were passed by wear the Ohio’s shirt, and my mother said “OH?” and they said “OHIO!” They don’t know how I am impressed. What do you think?  It is really awesome isn’t it? I really love this culture. I watched “Star Wars, the force is awake” with host family. I like American theater because we can react for the movie. For example, when I saw millennium falcon on the movie I let out a cry of joy without thinking and other people who love Star Wars ware doing same thing. When I passed a year I spent at my room and really quiet.

I went to Columbus that capital city of Ohio with ASSE Ohio’s exchange students. During this trip, I spent time with 4 friends from Europe and they can speak English. At the dinner, we were talking but honestly I couldn’t understand everything because they are using difficult words and they have strong intonation from countries of themselves. At this time, one of the friends who from Italy said “if you confuse or need some help, let us know we will help you. Asia’s languages are really different with English.” when I heard it, I felt so glad and happy. I met exchange students from China, Taiwan and South Korea in this trip and we have same problem. We shared problems with each other. I’m really really glad to meet them.

I have a project for the graduate in English class. It already started after winter break and I have to talk about my future. My teacher gave us homework every week. It is really hard for us such as have to read a book that have 1000 pages on a week, interview for person who has relation with my future and dream. It’s really hard for I don’t decide my future. The best surprised thing is other classmate already decided what I want to be after the college. Apart from to come true, they are independence and admiration like cool for them. Other class, I don’t know but each class gave me some projects after winter break. This is so hard for me but just do that.

I’m spending full life because have new experiences or to happening something every single day. Happy times and sad times, I couldn’t experience all of these things if I haven’t come to the US, so all of these experiences are good for me.

アメリカのミシガン州、ケント・シティ高校に留学中の岩上莉子さんから、第３回目の留学報告が届きました。

こんにちは！ミシガン州に留学中のりこです。

みなさんお元気ですか。先生方や友達、家族に会うのをとても楽しみにしています。それから、6年生の皆さん、まだ早いですが、卒業おめでとうございます。直接会って言えないのが残念です。私の学校は6月に終わるので、あと4ヶ月ほどで終わってしまいます。アメリカの卒業式といえばプロムですよね！私も今からとても楽しみにしています。今度家族と一緒にドレスを選びに行きます！

 さて、クロスカントリーが終わって冬は初めてダンスを習いました。私の高校のダンスチームは、公式ではなく、去年できたばかりの新しいチームです。キャプテンの名前はテイラーといって、私の家のすぐ近くに住んでいます。とても優しくて頭が良くて、ダンスに関することも全て彼女に教わりました。彼女はダンスと台湾をこよなく愛しています。なぜかというと、彼女は何年か前に、台湾からの留学生を受け入れたことがあって、それがきっかけで台湾を好きになったそうです。将来は台湾に住むと言っていて、大学では台湾に留学したいそうです。今年の夏日本にも来ることを約束しました。もうチケットを予約しているんですよ！でもきっと、彼女はベトナム、台湾を訪れて日本に来ると言っていました。彼女はアジアについてとても興味があり、知識も豊富です。彼女は今、東京からの留学生アオイと、ベトナムからの留学生ジェニファーと住んでいます。家がお互い近いので週末にはよくでかけることがあります。良い友達を持ててとても嬉しいです。

 日々の学校生活では、最近になって、時間割を変えました。だから今取っている科目は、数学、生物、アメリカ史、英語、心理学、経済になりました。みなさんは、クローズリーディングというのを知っていますか。これは、全ての学校で取り入れられていて、週に一度それぞれの授業にクローズリーディングがあります。長い文章を読むことを理解しやすくする為に、ひたすら文章を読んで書き込んだり印を付けたり、問題を解いたりしていく授業の一部です。私が取った科目の中の心理学は、時間割を一緒に決めるディレクターにゴリ押しされ、取ることに決めました！その人の名前はウィルソンといって、クロスカントリー、陸上のコーチでもあり、とても良い人です。

 時々私は、授業中に書くことに戸惑いを持ってしまうことがあります。例えば、英語の授業で、よく文章を書くことがあります。また後期が始まった2月から、書くことが増えたような気がします。この作業を多くやっているのが、クローズリーディングを読んだ後や、本や映画の批評をする時です。2,3分間で一定の量を書かなければいけないのですが、私はいつもギリギリで、しかも他の生徒と比べると全然書けません。書きたいことを書くのに時間がかかってしまいます。それから自分の書いた文章を周りの人と読みあったり、相手の返答を書いたりするときがあります。もちろん自分たちの意見なので、他の人と違うのは当たり前ですが、そういうときに彼らと自分の英語力との差に気づかされます。日本に帰るまでに、どれほど成長できるかわからないけれど、留学生として、最後までやれることはやってがんばりたいと思います！

  Hi, it’s Riko from Michigan!

How has everyone been doing? I’m going to be looking forward to seeing my friends, teachers, and my family! Especially for senior students in Hokusei, congratulations on graduating! Well, technically it’s not yet, but please let me take this opportunity to say it for them. And in addition, my host school’s graduation ceremony is in June, so that is one of differences between Japanese and American high school. I’m also looking forward to prom! Most girls are exactly preparing for dress, hair, or shoes now. I hope to get best dress! 

 After the Cross Country season finished, I started to dance with my host sister. My school’s dance team is not official team, because it was just organized last year. My friend, Taylor, is a captain in our dance team. She was also teaching us all things about dance stuff. She loves dance and Taiwan. Why does she love Taiwan? Because she had an exchange student from Taiwan few years ago, and then she hopes to live in Taiwan. She promised me to come to Japan this summer. She has already booked tickets for going to Japan! But probably I think she is going to visit Vietnam, Taiwan, and finally Japan. Yes, she is so interested in Asian country. Because she knows about many Asian culture! She said she is going to go abroad in Taiwan when she’s in college. She is living with my best friend, Aoi and Jennifer who are exchange students from Tokyo and Vietnam. The first time that I met them, they said they are looking for host family. Me and Taylor were already close good friends, so I asked her to host them. Then her family accepted to host them! She was so excited about being Japanese and Vietnamese host sister. Plus, my house is near her house, so we often hang out on weekends. I’m so happy for having good friends, good family, good teammates, and good school. 

 In daily life at school, I changed schedule from February which is new third semester because I wanted to experience the class of college level. I was recommended for taking psychology class by director.  He is so kind to me, and always cheers me up for XC. He is also a coach of Track and field. All of classes in American high schools have “close reading” which helps for understanding big point during reading sentences. My host school has it once a week in each class. Actually I’m taking Math, Biology, Economics, U.S. History, English10, and Psychology. Psychology is the class of college. It has many long close reading with question. But psychology teacher says it’ll help me in the future anyway. So I’ll just do my best as I can. 

 Sometimes I feel frustration about writing in the end of class. For example, during English class, we often write sentences about passage from close reading. It sounds like easy, but actually I can’t write many sentences in few minutes like other American high school students. I mean I always spend time for writing. But other students write many sentences so fast. In just few minutes, they can write long sentences. That moment made me surprised and realized my level at the same time. I’ve never felt like feelings in Japan. I felt I need more writing skill as an exchange student from Japan. So I’ll never forget trying to do anything. In the limited time, I don’t know how much I’m going to be able to grow up, but I’ve appreciated for people who are supporting me.

アメリカのオレゴン州、サウス・セーラム高校に留学中の藤井美縁さんから第３回目のレポートが届きました。

こんにちは、皆さん。これが私の3回目のレポートです。アメリカで半年過ごしたとは信じられません。

まず始めに、ファイナルイグザムが終わりました。日本でいう期末テストです。試験前はたくさん勉強したので、Aが２つ、Bが２つ、Cが３つで、私としては良い成績でした。とても嬉しいですし、自分のことを誇りに思います。なぜなら、私が韓国から日本に渡った時、私は読むことも書くことも、話すこともできませんでした。そのため私の成績はひどいものでした。ですが今回はたった６ヵ月しか過ごしていないのに、こんなに良い成績を取ることが出来たんです！私が今回の結果に満足している理由が分かって頂けたと思います。

次に、私の学校では２学期が始まりました。英語学習、動物の行動、読書、保健、数学、ビデオ制作、英語、２０世紀アメリカ史を履修しています。以前なら３つも英語の授業を取りたくないと思ったはずですが、今は大丈夫です。なぜなら、これらのクラスのおかげで英語が上達したからです。動物行動のクラスでは、動物に関するビデオを見て、その感想を書いたり、動物と人間の行動を比較したりします。保健では、私たちの体について勉強しています。１回テストがあったのですが、あまりできなかったと思います。今度テストを受けるときはもっと頑張るので、点数も上がると思います。保健の授業はとても楽しみです。なぜなら人間の思考について学んだり、私たちの体に良いものや悪いものについて学んだりすることが出来るからです。前期は、私は普通の数学を履修しましたが、今回はIB数学というものを履修しています（普通の数学よりも少し難しいです）、なぜなら、少し難しいものに挑戦したかったですし、数学の勉強にもなると思ったからです。授業で使う専門用語が難しいので、授業は簡単ではありません。時には混乱することもあります。内容自体は難しくないのですが、専門用語のせいで質問の内容を理解できない時があるんです。

つぎに、ビデオ制作の授業のお話をします。このクラスでは映画を製作します。私は音楽やビデオを作るのに興味があるので、このクラスは楽しいかもしれません。私の友達はこのクラスは難しいと言っていましたが、最善を尽くして良いビデオを作ろうと思います！！！私は歴史の授業が大好きです。そう聞くと、皆さん混乱するかもしれませんね。なぜなら日本にいたとき、私は歴史は大嫌いでしたから。漢字がたくさんあって、テキストが難しくて。歴史自体はアメリカでも難しいのですが、先生が大好きなんです！！！今までで一番優しい女の先生です。彼女のクラスを受けているときは、絶対に退屈することがないので、とても不思議です。映画を見たり、ノートを取ったり、スピーチをしたり、テストを受けたりします。映画を見たときは、先生がポップコーンを持ってきてくれました。残念ながら私はポップコーンが嫌いなので、食べませんでしたが。食べられるには食べられるのですが、匂いと歯触りが苦手なんです。なぜか吐きそうになるんです。ともかく、私は今の時間割が気に入っています。

私は台湾からの元留学生に会って、これまで２回会って、一緒に買い物に行ったり、おしゃべりをしたり、ピザを食べたり、お泊り会をしたりしました。お泊り会の時は、夜中の２時までおしゃべりをしてしまい、次の日起きたのは１１時でした。彼女はおしゃべりが好きで、たくさんいいアドバイスをしてくれたり、自分の経験を話してくれたりしました。彼女から力を貰いましたし、勇気づけられました。彼女は「台湾人なら…」という言い方をしたので、それを聞いて、「ああ私も留学生だった」と思い出して、お互いの国のことを話さなくちゃと思ったんです。それから私は日本や韓国にいたときのように、彼女とたくさんお話をしました。台湾に行くときには、彼女を訪ねて行きたいです。

以上がここ１か月の私の様子です。ここが大好きなので日本に戻りたくないです。

Hello every one. This is my 3rd report! I can’t believe I have spent almost 6months in the US. 

First, I took a final exam. It’s like Japanese KIMATSU TEST. I did study a lot before the final exam. So I got two As, two Bs, three Cs. I’m so happy and proud of myself. Because when I moved from Korea to Japan, I couldn’t read, speak and writing, So my grade was super terrible. But this time, I have spent just 6 month, but I got great grade! This is the reason why I’m happy with my grade.

Next, my school started 2nd semester. I take English learning class, Animal behavior, Reading class(Like TADOKU), health, IB math, video production, Junior English, and 20th US history. Actually I don’t want to take 3 English classes before, but now I don’t mind. Because they help me to improve my English skill. In animal behavior class, we watch some videos about animals, and then write something about the video. And thinking about animal’s behavior and human’s behavior. For health, we are learning about our body. I took a protest, but I don’t think I did good on the test. I will do my best and when we take that test again, my score will be better. I’m so exciting for my health class, for I can learning how people thinking or what national is good or bad for our body. Last semester I took regular math, but this semester I took IB math (IB is little hard class), for I want to try hard one, and may be it’s good for my math study. It’s not easy because the term that we use in class is difficult. They make me confuse some time. I mean math is not hard, but the question is hard to understand because of the term.

Next I want to talk about my video production class. We make movies in this class. Actually I am interested in don’t or producing music or video. So I may like this class. My Friends said this class is hard, but I’ll do my best and I have to make awesome video!!! I love my history class. Maybe this sentence makes everyone confuse. Lol when I was in Japan, I hate history. A lot of kanji, hard text book… I hate..but history is hard too here, but I love my teacher!!! She is kindest teacher ever!!! While I take her class, I’ve never got bored. It’s so surprise. Sometime we watch movie, take notes, do speeches, and take tests. When we watched movie, she prepare popcorn to class, and watch movies it made me confuse. But I didn’t ate that, because popcorn is the only food I can’t eat. Actually I can eat, but I don’t like the smell and texture of it. That make my feel like puke(吐く). Equally important I like my schedule!!

I’ve met former exchange student from Taiwan. We met two times, and we went shopping, talked a lot, ate pizza, and sleep over together. While we sleep over we talked until at 2:00 am. Next morning we got up at 11:00. She likes talking, so she gave me a lot of nice advice and her experience. That message gave me power, and good mind. She always said”~oh if your Taiwanese~” like this. That remind oh, I’m exchange student! Until I may forget that, I need showing our culture! Since that day, I talk a lot like when I was in Japan and Korea. I spent really great time with her.　When I’ll go to Taiwan, I have to meet her again.  

So this is my life of this month. I don’t want to go back to Japan. Because I love here!!!

アメリカのインディアナ州、キャッスル高校に留学中の山脇幹子さんから第３回目の留学報告が届きました。

こんにちは！幹子です。皆さん、お元気ですか。札幌は寒いですよね。私はやるべきこと全てにおいて上手く出来ているんじゃないかと思います。何から先に話しましょうか。じゃあまずフロリダのウォルトディズニーワールドについて話そうと思います。

12月29日の朝早くにインディアナからフロリダに出発しました。この日はデイトナ・ビーチに行きました。ホストマザーが、このビーチはアメリカで有名なビーチのひとつなのだと言っていたので友達に知っているかどうか聞いてみたら、皆もちろん知っていて、行くんだって言ったら羨ましがられました。フロリダの気温について話すと、フロリダは真夏のように暑かったのですが、あらかじめ夏用の服を買って行ったので大丈夫でした。私、賢いですから、って冗談ですけど(笑)。ビーチは良かったのですが、私的にはハワイとか沖縄の方が良かったです。フロリダでは両親の友達２人に会いました。２人ともとても優しくて、春休みにもおいでと言ってくれました。

12月31日はウォルトディズニーワールドに行きました！！！！興奮しすぎました。４つの王国があって、私たちは魔法の王国と動物の王国に行きました。この２つが一番だと聞いていたので。でも動物の王国は私には退屈でした。魔法の王国の話をしますね。ディズニーと言えば、スプラッシュ・マウンテン、ビッグ・サンダー・マウンテン、シンデレラ城、などを思い浮かべますが、そのような乗り物がたくさんありました。日本語で書かれたガイドマップを見つけたので嬉しくなりました。前回のレポートで私のホストシスターは障害者であることをお話ししましたが、彼女は乗りたくない乗り物があったので、両親が私一人でそれらの乗り物に乗ることを許可してくれました。凄く楽しくて、友達や家族にたくさんお土産を買いました。アメリカはお土産を買う文化ではないので、良いお土産を探すのが大変でした。

スプラッシュ・マウンテンに乗るのに75分しか待たなかったので、きっと東京ディズニーランドの方が混んでいると思います。大晦日ということで、シンデレラ城の前で特別なパレードを見ることが出来ました。新年を迎える夜中の12時には花火があったのですが、ホストシスターが障害者なので、残念ながら見られませんでした。真夜中の花火を本当に見たかったので、日本の家族と来ていたらもっと楽しかったし花火も見られただろうにと思いましたが、ホテルのベランダから見られたので良かったです。

次の日は動物の王国に行きました。さっきも書きましたが、つまらなかったです。何も書くことはないのですが、何か聞きたいですか。そうですね、ここには大きなサファリがあって、男性がトラックを運転して動物の中を案内してくれます。ファミリーは楽しんでいたようですが、私は楽しくなかったです。でもいい思い出です。ありがとうディズニー、ありがとうフロリダ！

バスケットのことを話しますね。チームメイトと一緒にプレーするのも楽しいですが、彼女たちとおしゃべりするのもとても楽しいです。彼女たちのおかげで、私の英語力が伸びました。もうすぐシーズンが終わってしまうのでとても悲しいのですが。昨年暮れの12月23日に老人ホームに行って歌を歌いました。クリスマスソングです。それも楽しかったです。そのあとチームのイベントがありました。メキシコ料理を食べたり、プレゼント交換をしたり、電話をしたり（ゲームみたいに）。私はチームの先発メンバーだったのですが、私よりも上手な選手がたくさんいたので、ポジションを奪われないように必死になって練習しました。その結果、まだ先発メンバーに残っています！時間が経つのは本当に速くて、地区予選がもう始まっています。これが最後の大きな試合なんです。昨日が初日で、エバンズビル・セントラルでエバンズビル北高校との試合がありました。

エバンズビル北高校は５Gの長坂聖香さんが通っている高校です。キャッスル高校と北高校はどのスポーツでもライバルなのですが、昨日の試合は私たちが勝ちました！本当に良い試合でした。とにかく、日本に戻っても、チームの仲間から離れたくありません。日本に帰ったらきっとさびしいと思いますが、彼女たちと過ごした思い出は決して忘れません。

アメリカにいられるのはあと数か月です。今でも十分楽しんでいますが、まだ足りないです。シーズンが終われば、友達と遊ぶ時間がもっとできると思います。残りの日を全て素晴らしい日にしようと思います。それではまた、次回のレポートで。

Hi!  I’m Motoko.  How are you guys doing?  It’s cold out there, right?  Here either.  I think I’m doing good all of things what I have to do.  I don’t know what I should talk about first…Okey, I gonna talk about Walt Disney World in FL.

I leave IN to FL on Dec 29 in the pretty early morning.  I went to Daytona beach on this day.  My host mother said that the beach is one of famous beach in America so I asked some friends “Do you know Daytona beach?” they said “of course!!  Will you go there?  I’m jealous.”  Ohhhh,, I need to tell you the temperature in FL.  That was hot there like the summer day but I was NOT upset because I bought some clothes before we leave here.  I was a wise girl  Just kidding.  The beach was awesome but I think Hawaii and Okinawa are better than there. lol  I met two people who is my host parents’ friends.  They were way kind and they invited me to visit their house on spring break.

On Dec 31, we went to Walt Disney World!!!!!!  I was way too excited  There are four part of kingdom and we went to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.  I heard those are the best parts…but Animal Kingdom was bored for me. lol  I gonna talk about Magic kingdom first.  Speaking of Disney, Splash mountain,  Big Thunder mountain, Cinderella castle, something like that. There are many rides like those.  I found guide map which is written in Japanese that makes me happy.  I told you my host sister is disability on the last report.  We can use special needs passport to ride some rides, but she didn’t want to rides some, but I really like those so my host parents allow me to ride those myself!!  I enjoyed so much and bought so many souvenirs for my family and friends.  There is no culture to buy souvenir in America so I had a hard time to find a good one.

I think there are more people in Tokyo Disney Land than Disney World because I waited only 75 minutes to ride a Splash Mountain!!  That was a New Year’s Eve Day so we could watch the special parade in front of the cinderella castle, and there are special fire-works to greet the New Year’s Day on the time but you know it’s a midnight and my host sis is disability so I couldn’t watch that…I really really wanted to watch that at the Disney…I thought at that time, “if I came here with my OFFICIAL family, I could enjoyed more and I watched special nice fire-works.” but I could see that from the veranda of the hotel so I watched that alone.

Next day, we went to Animal Kingdom…that was bored again. lol  I have nothing to tell ya about there…do you wanna hear some?  Well, there is a big safari.  A man drive a track and took us around the animals.  Host family looked enjoying and exciting but I was not…but those are good memories in my life!  Thank you Disney, thank you FL!!!

I gonna talk about basketball.  I am really really enjoying to spend the time with ladies not only playing basketball also talking with them.  Do you know who improved my English ability?  They did. I know the season is almost over…that’s making us sad. On Dec 23, 2015, we went to a nursing home and sang some songs for people in there.  Those are Christmas songs.  That was fun!  After that, we had a team event!!!  Eating Mexican food, and exchange the gift, and telephone(it’s like a game).  I worried about starter.  I was a starter before I go to Disney World but I knew there are many good players who can play basketball instead of me.  I worked way hard on the practice not to deprive of my position on the court.  As a result, I was still starter!!!!!!!  The time is going so early, sectional is already started.  Do you guys know that?  That’s a final BIG GAME!!  Yesterday was first sectional day vs Evansville North H.S. at Evansville Central

H.S.  Did you notice?  Evansville North H.S. is the school Kiyoka Nagasaka goes to!!  Castle and North is a RIVAL about any kind of sports.  We won yesterday’s game!!!!!!  That was a really really GREAT game.  Anyway, I don’t wanna leave my teammates even after flying back to Japan.  I gonna miss them, and I can’t forget any memories that I spent with them.

I can stay in the U.S. for a few months…I already enjoyed the life in here but I need more.  I can hang out with my friends more time after the season is over.  I will be making all of days that I have great.  See ya next report.  Bye:)

アメリカのジョージア州、アレキサンダー高校に留学中の山田若菜さんから第３回目のレポートが届きました。

あけましておめでとうございます！　…ってもう2月ですよね。年が明けてから帰国まであっという間だと聞いていたのですが、まさにその通りです。年を越したのがついこの間のようです。一日を大切にしなきゃいけないことに改めてきずかされます。

 ところで、私がスイムチームに入っていたことをまだお話ししていませんでしたね。学校の部活動なのですが、私たちの学校にはプールがないので放課後３０分もかけて通っていました。練習は、というととても楽です。（笑）あまりこの学校でもメジャーな部活ではありませんし、何よりメンバーのほとんどが初心者なんです。しかし、なぜ彼らはあんなに泳げるのでしょうか。今まで一度も習ったこともない人たちが普通に試合に出るんです。それもちゃんと泳げているんです。アメリカ人の運動神経のよさと習得の速さには本当に驚かされました。私たちはこの３カ月の間に６回もの試合に出場しました。私は毎回リレーのメンバーに選ばれていたのですが、メドレーリレーではなんと平泳ぎなんです。知っている人はこれをみて爆笑でしょうね。未だに理解できません。(笑) 個人ではほとんど全部の種目に出ました。試合ごとに違う種目を出るのはとても新鮮でしたし、試合のある日はわくわくで授業どころではありませんでした。なにしろ、試合会場に行ってから出る種目を知るのですから。（笑）そういう緩いところも大好きな理由の一つです。

楽しいことだけでなく、学んだこともたくさんあります。個人種目は団体競技でもあると思うんです。確かに試合では個人ごとになりますが、練習、リレーなどではみんなが一つになるのが実感できましたし、彼らと一緒に練習できたから、たくさんの応援があったからこそ、出せた記録、たくさんの思い出ができたと思います。そして、”Good Luck!”、”Good Job!”　これらの言葉はろくに英語を話せない私にとって魔法の言葉です。毎回違う学校の人たちとの試合なので、私はたくさんの人たちと会いました。彼らは目が合うだけでこの言葉をかけてくれます。なので、私もたくさんの人に言いました。それだけで仲良くなれるんです。目が合ったら、にこっと笑うだけでなくたった一言かけるだけでこんなにも違うんだと思うと同時に、どこの国でも私達にとって言葉、会話はどれだけ大切なものなのかが分かりました。

みなさん、ついに！ここジョージアにも初雪が降りました。もうその日は凄かったんです。前の日から学校が早く終わることがテレビで流れ、当日学校に行ってもほとんど生徒はいませんでした。そして、夜。雪が降っているのを見るとみんな子供みたいにはしゃいで外に走り出て行きました。もちろん大人も含めて。（笑）中には人生で初めて見る子もいたんです。でも地面に着いたらすぐに溶けちゃうし、降っていたのはたったの数分間。もう彼らに札幌の雪を見せてあげたくてたまりませんでした。

札幌はどうですか。まだ寒い時期が続いていますか。年が明けて、次の学年の準備など忙しい時期だとは思いますが、体に気を付けて残り数カ月たくさんの楽しい思い出を作ってください。

Have a Happy New Year!  It’s already February, isn’t it?  I heard time goes fast from the New Year to my return home.  I found this to be true.  The year’s end and New Year’s event is still fresh in my memory.  I came to realize, again, I should cherish each day.

By the way, I have not told you guys that I joined a swim team.  This is a club activity at school, but since we don’t have swimming pool, we go to the aquatic center, which takes about 30 minutes to get to.  What about practice?  I think practice is easy, because this activity is not popular and most of the swimmers are beginners.  However, they have amazing talent!  I was very surprised that they swam so well.  We had swim meets 6 times in 3 months.  I was chosen to be a member of the relay, I did the breaststroke.  I know some people are laughing right now about that, but I don’t mind because I laughed, too.  I did most of strokes.  It was refreshing to try new strokes at every meet and when I had swim meet, I was too excited to take classes.  At any rate, I knew what strokes to swim when I went to meets.  This is one of the reasons I like it.

It’s not just fun, I also learned important things.  I think individual sports are also team sports.  Certainly, the result affects us, but I realized that we unite in practice and meets and so on.  Also, I swam with a lot of good friends and we cheered for each other, so I made a lot of memories and good times.  “Good Luck!” and “Good Job!” are magical words for me, someone who doesn’t speak proper English.  I met a lot of different school friends.  Every time their eyes met mine, they told me these encouraging words, so I would say it to a lot of people, too.  We were able to become friends by only these things.  I learned how important it is for us to have a conversation.

At last!  We finally had snow a few days.  It was amazing.  The day before this day, the news said we would leave school early, and most of students were not at school the next day.  At night, they ware wild with excitement like children and went outside, including adults.  There were a few people who saw snow first time.  The snow melted easily when it reached the ground, and it had continued for only a few minutes, so I really want to show them our city’s snow.

What about Sapporo?  It’s still cold, right?  The busiest time of the school year is almost coming, so you guys take care of yourselves and I hope that you make good memories by the end of the school year!

アメリカのカリフォルニア州、セントラル・バレー高校に留学中の佐々木萌里さんから第３回目の留学報告が届きました。

皆さん、こんにちは。

明けましておめでとうございます！

もう２月ですね、信じられますか。

ともかく、私は１２月と１月を楽しく過ごしました。皆さんはクリスマスには何をされましたか。私の場合は、たくさんの人たちが私のお家に来たので、家族で着飾りました。お家で良い服を着て過ごしたのは人生で初めてです(笑)。12時きっかりに、皆でハグをし合いました。とても素敵な瞬間でした。それから歌をたくさん歌ったり、ビデオをたくさん撮影したり、送ることが出来ないのが残念ですが。大晦日も私の家にたくさんの人たちが集まりました。その日はゲームをしたりホラー映画を見たり、カラオケをしたり、とっても楽しいひと時でした。それから３週間の冬休みがあって、１月５日に学校が始まりました。神社にお参りに行ったり、お年玉セールに行ったりしなかったので、新年が来たという気がしませんでしたが。

私の学校はスキー週間があります。雪もないのにスキー週間があるって変だなと思ったのですが、雪がないからあるんですね(笑)。スキー週間が終わると、ロスにコンサートを見に行きます。私のホストシスターがK-POPが大好きなので、K-POPのコンサートに行きます。彼女は色々なジャンルの曲を幅広く聞くので、私も彼女と一緒に音楽を聴くのが好きになりました。

数日前に、旗や剣や銃を持って踊る、カラーガードに所属しました。私はダンスが大好きなのですが、これはダンスを踊るだけじゃないので、私にとっては新しくてとても楽しいです。

最近、帰国まであと４ヵ月しかないことに気づきました。時間が経つのは本当に速いです。これからもっと速くなるんでしょうね。一生懸命頑張るのと、たくさん楽しむことに努力します。

Hi, everyone!

Happy new year!

It’s already February…can you believe that!?

Anyways, I had a lot fun in December and January.  What did you do for Christmas?  Many people came to our house, and we dressed up.  I had not dress out to stay in our house in my entire life haha.  At 12:00am, we gave a hug each other.  That was a sweet moment.  We sang a lot:) I took some videos, sadly, I can’t send them though.  On New Year’s Eve, there were many people in our house also.  We played games, watched scary movies and did karaoke!!  Such a happy time:)  We had a winter break which was about 3 weeks.  School started from January 5.  I didn’t feel like it was a new year, because I didn’t go to a shrine, and shopping.  

I will have a ski week, I thought it is pretty weird, because we don’t even have a snow.  But I guess that’s why! Haha. So I just need to get through this week!  End of the ski week, I am going to go to LA to go to a concert.  My host sister loves K-POP, so it is a K-POP concert.  She is so open to many kind of music.  It is interesting to listen to music with her.  

Few days ago, I joined in color guard which dancing with flags, sword and rifle.  I love dancing, but it is not just dance.  It’s so new for me, so really interesting, isn’t it?  

Recently, I just realized I have 4 more months left.  Time went so fast, and I’m sure it is going to be faster than that.  I will try hard and have a lot of fun:)

カナダサスカチュワン州のトミー・ダグラス高校に留学中の佐々木愛さんから第３回目の留学報告が届きました。

こんにちは。カナダのサスカチュワン州に留学中の佐々木愛です。3回目のレポートとなりました。最近暖かくなってきたと思うのですが、この前は−33度になりました。朝、車庫にある缶のジンジャオーレを飲もうとグラスに注いだら、水面がゼリー状になっているように見え、私はすごい驚き、ジュースが腐っているのか、ジュースは腐るのかと延々と考え続け、怪しかったので観察してみました。埒があかないので、最後に指でツンツンとしてみると、それは氷だったことがわかりました。ジュースが凍っていただけでした。北海道ではそんなことは冬ではいつもありましたが、カナダで経験したのは今回が初めてです。いつまでたっても雪があまり積もらないので、クリスマスに近くなれば大雪になると楽しみにしていたのですが、結局、足首が埋まる程度の深さしか積もりませんでした。雪は積もらず、ただただ気温が低くなるなんて、たちが悪いですね。そうそう、地面に雪がなくなるまで雪かきをしたのですが、次の日、身体中が痛くなりました笑。無理をするものではないですね。

学校は2学期中の1学期が終わり、学期末のテストも終わりました。数学は絶対値の計算やグラフ、正弦定理や余弦定理など、よく解けたと思います。点数につながっているといいですが…。 家庭科は食品成分表などを英語で理解するのが難しく、結構時間をかけて勉強しました。しかし、授業が始まると、なんと調理実習をするというではありませんか！トマトとチーズをのせたガーリックトーストと、野菜スティックを作り終わるまで、調理が終わった後にテストをするのだと、まだ望みは捨てていませんでした。しかし、テスト用紙が返されてそれを見た瞬間に悟りました。題名にFinal Examと書いてあったのですから。私はいつもの定期テストだと思いながら、もう既に受けていたのです。私はその日、自分が英語を理解しきれていないことに落ち込みました。しかし、その日の調理実習で友達にstrainerを取ってと言われた時、すぐに理解することができたので、今回覚えたことは日々の生活にも役立つと前向きに考えることにしました。 体育は保健のAEDとCPRについてのテストをしました。内容は理解していても、問題文が難しく、もう少し勉強しておくべきことだったと後悔しました。しかし、友達もハードだったと言っていたので安心しました笑。 バンドはテストはなく、いつもより長い時間合奏をしただけでした。 理科はいろいろな分野の問題があり大変でした。単位計算から始まり、化学のアルカリ性や酸性、吸熱反応や発熱反応、元素記号や化学記号、絶滅危惧種や食物連鎖、最後に地球環境や自然災害でした。40問のA~Dまでの選択問題だけだと安心していたのですが、文章で答える問題も4枚程あることに気づいてからは、解けない自分にイライラし、理科のテストが終わってからは、脱力感でボーッとしていました。 しかし、ここの学校のテストは1日1教科で、昼12時には帰ることができるので、テストの日が好きになりそうです笑。

何を書こうかと悩みながら書いていたら、長くなってしまいました。皆さんはテストの話は興味ないかもしれませんね笑。書きたいことはまだたくさんあったのですが、楽しかったことを短く書いておきます。

体育の授業で冬に水泳があったのですが、深さが4m?ぐらいで、足がつかないので私は息継ぎができず、本当に死にそうでした。しかし、自由時間に、7m?のジャンプ台に何回も挑戦できて楽しかったです。ここの学校はプロムがないのですが、体育館で行われるダンスパーティに友達と行ってきました。近くの学校のリンクでフィギュアスケートのスピンを挑戦してみました。クリスマスにはクッキーを作ったり、イルミネーションを車で周ったりしました。そして、たくさんの人から、犬から、サンタさんからプレゼントをもらいました。クリスマスがもっと好きになりました笑。そして、去年の8月にすれ違いで京都に留学していたホストシスターが今年の1月に帰ってきました！たまに”めっちゃ”を使っています笑。つい先ほどまでは、半日、スキーをしてきました。

そんなこんなで毎日楽しく過ごさせてもらっています。毎日感謝の気持ちを忘れずに、英語力の向上を目指して頑張ります。それではまた次回のレポートで会いましょう。

カナダのアルバータ州、ＨＪコーディー高校に留学中の植田小里加さんから第3回目の留学報告が届きました。

Hi! みんな元気? “未来のカナダ料理のシェフ”こと植田小里加です!…なんてね、あはは。ただ、ホストファザーに「サリカは日本に帰ったらカナダ料理のレストランを開くんだよ」と言われたのは本当の話です。

カナダに来てもう5か月が経ちました。早い!　日本に帰る日のことを考えたくありません。さて、前回のレポート同様、私はたくさんのことを経験しています。

こっちに来てから、本当にたくさんの映画を観ています。「ピッチ・パーフェクト」、「カールおじさんの空飛ぶ家」、「ザ・ピーナッツ　ムービー」、「モール☆コップ」、「あなたが寝てる間に…」、「ザ・グランド・ブダペスト・ホテル」、「フォレスト・ガンプ」、「アラバマ物語」、「ロミオとジュリエット」などなど…。特に「キャッチ・ミー・イフ・ユー・キャン」ではいくつかのケベックの場所がシーンで使われていて、それがきれいで。ホストシスターが研修旅行でケベックに行ったので映画で使われた場所も含めて写真を見せてもらったのですが、映画同様きれいでした。ああいつかケベックに行けたらなぁ…いや待てよ、フランス語のフの字も話せないよ、私。また、「ハンガーゲーム」三部作と「スターウォーズ」オリジナル三部作、そして「フォースの覚醒」も観ました!!　本当にすごかったです。「フォースの覚醒」は３Dで観たのですが、どきどきするし、すごい!!　あと、「ハンガーゲーム」三部作でカットニス・エヴァディーンを演じていたジェニファー・ローレンスが好きになりました。

ところで、映画館に行ってポップコーンを買うときに、ミディアム、スモールのポップコーンが見つけられず、「この映画館にはスモールやミディアムサイズのポップコーンがないのか…」と思い、ラージサイズを頼んだのですが、友達は皆ミディアムサイズのポップコーンを持っていたんです。友達も驚いていましたけど、私も驚きました。結局、全部食べたけどねっ。

クリスマスと新年もカナダで過ごしました。クリスマスにはいくつかのプレゼント交換が学校やホストファミリーとの間でありました。「シークレットサンタ」（プレゼント交換の方法の1つ。誰がプレゼントをくれたかは知らないことになっている。）ではチョコレート1箱をもらい、ホストファミリーからはチョコレート2箱、手袋、ボディバター、ルームシューズ2足などなどをもらいました。箱チョコレートたくさんもらったことつっこまないでね、誰かとシェアして食べます。(笑)

また、学校のクリスマス・マスカレード・ダンスや教会のクリスマス礼拝にも行きました。クリスマス・ダンスはほんっっとうに楽しかったです。ダンスはうまく踊れないのですが、友達が「好きなように、クレージーに踊る!!」といってくれたのと、他の人たちも本当に楽しんでいたので、そんなこと気にもしなかったです。特に、フラッシュモブのように踊るのはすごく楽しかったです!!!　このパーティーで、踊ることが私の好きなことの1つになりました。どうして日本の学校にはこういったダンスパーティーがないんだろう?　教会にはホストファミリーと行って、礼拝中は去年のことを思い出したりしました。

大みそかは、ホストファミリーとその友達のファミリーと過ごしました。実は、NHKの紅白歌合戦が少し恋しかったのですが、「ニュー・イヤーズ・ロッキン・イブ」なるものを見つけて、その感じも薄れました。　最近、日本と海外の音楽シーンの違いに興味があります。おそらく、その2つに大きな違いがあるのは簡単にわかると思うのですが、曲も含めてもっと詳しく知りたいなと思っています。とにかく、クリスマスブレークは楽しかったです。

前回のレポートで学校の劇の役を射止めたと書いたのですが、練習が始まっています。友達を作るいいチャンスです。私の所属するカンパニーの男子の一人は日本に住んでいたことがありいくつか日本語が分かるそうです。彼が突然「こちらは馬鹿です。」とディレクターを示しながら日本語で言ったとき、実はびっくりしました。ジョークだということはもちろん分かっています。カンパニーのある女の子はよく話しかけてくれます。

クワイアのメンバーとしてはとても忙しかったです。他の音楽のクラスと合同のクリスマスコンサートを含め、たくさんのコンサートがあったからです。クリスマスコンサートのパフォーマンスの順番を待っているとき、友達が学校の色々な所に連れて行ってくれました。彼女はたくさんの楽しいこと、例えば誰もいない図書館で歌うのは実はとても楽しいことなどを教えてくれました。生まれて初めて図書館で歌いました。そしてなんと、私が所属するクワイアのレコーディングがあります!!　かっこいいでしょう!　レコーディングは春にあります、楽しみです。

そして試験がやってくる…ああなんてこった、試験…　でもベストを尽くすのみです!　しかもスケートとスキーにも行けるかもしれないので、カナダでの冬は充実しそうです!

Hi ! How’s life going?  This is “Future Canadian cook” a.k.a. Sarika Ueda!… JK, haha.  But it is a fact that my host father said “Sarika will open a Canadian restaurant after she back to Japan.” 

Already 5 monthes passed since I came to Canada. It’s soo fast!  I don’t wanna think the day I’ll be back to Japan.  Anyway, I’ve experienced so many things as previous reports like I went to basketball tryout. 

I’ve watched bunch of movies since came this country. “PITCH PERFECT”, “UP”,  “The PEANUTS Movie”, “Mall Cop”, “While You Are Sleeping”, “The Grand Budapest Hotel”, “Forrest Gump”, “To Kill A Mockingbird”, “The Romeo and Juliet” etc.…  Especially, In “Catch Me If You Can”, some places of Quebec were used in the movie and those were beautiful.  My host sister went to Quebec as her school trip and shown pictures include places which appeared scenes, those were beautiful as in movie.  I wish I could visit Quebec someday… Wait, I can’t speak any French.  Also, I watched “THE HUNGER GAME” trilogy and “STAR WARS” original trilogy and THE FORCE AWAKEN!!  Those were AWESOME, too.  I watched “THE FORCE AWAKEN” in 3D, it was exciting and fantastic!!  And I became a fan of Jenifer Laurence who played Curtness Everdeen in “THE HUNGER GAME” trilogy. 

By the way, when I went to a movie theater and buy popcorn, I ordered large sized one ’cause I couldn’t find small or medium sized popcorn and I thought “They don’t have small or medium sized popcorn…”, but my friends had medium sized one. My friends were surprised but I was surprised, too.  After all, I ate whole large sized popcorn, haha. 

I had Christmas and New Year in Canada. In Christmas, I had some Christmas exchanges at school and with my host family.  I’ve got a box of chocolate from “Secret Santa” (It’s a way for present exchange.  We don’t know who gave me a present, officially.).  From my host family, I’ve got two boxes of chocolates, mittens, body butter, two room shoes, etc.  Please don’t point out that I got bunch of chocolates.  I gonna share them with someone, LOL. 

Also, I went to Christmas Masquerade Dance at school and church for Christmas service. Christmas Dance was sooooo exciting.  I’m not good at dancing, but I didn’t really care about it because one of my friend said “You can dance free and crazy!!!” and other students REALLY enjoyed dancing.  Especially, we danced like flash mob, that was REALLY fun!!!  This party made dancing is one of my favorite things.  Why don’t Japanese schools have dance parties?  I went to church with my host family and I remembered last year while the Christmas service.  By the way, I gave a picture to my choir teacher as a Christmas present. 

On New Year’s Eve, I spent time with my host family and their friend’s family. Actually, I missed “NHK’s Annual New year’s Eve Marathon Song Festival” a little, but I found “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” on TV and it made me fine.  Recently, I’m interested in the difference between Japanese and foreign countries’ music scenes.  Perhaps, it’s easy to find those are really different, but I wanna know further about that, include songs.  Anyway, my Christmas break was fun. 

In my previous report, I wrote I got a roll of school play and rehearsal is already started. It is good chance to make friends.  One boy in my play has lived Japan and he knows some Japanese.  When he suddenly said “This is an idiot” in Japanese with showing our director, actually I was surprised.  I KNOW that was a joke.  The other girl in play often talks to me. 

I was very busy as a choir member. It’s because we had so much concert include Christmas concert with other music class of school.  While we were waiting our performance of Christmas concert, my friend took me to many places in school.  She taught me some fun things like to sing in unmanned library was actually exciting.  Yes, I sung in library for the first time, and her song was AWESOME.  She will be a good singer.  And guess what?  My choir gonna recording our voice!!  It’s cool, isn’t it?  It’s gonna happen in spring.  I’m really looking forward to recording. 

And exam is coming…oh, what an awful sound, exam… However, I’ll do my best!  In addition, I may be able to go skating and skiing, so I will have busy and fun winter in Canada!

佐々木愛奈です。アメリカに来てからすでに5ヶ月が経ちました。一回目のレポートを提出したときはまだ学校が始まっていなかったので、学校の様子についてお話ししたいと思います。

私の通っている学校は4学期制で、ちょうど今日（1月26日）から三学期が始まりました。授業時間は約40分、授業と授業の間は4分しかありません。約40分としたのは、曜日によって授業時間が異なるからです。

前学期までは、English、Yearbook、American History、Algebra(数学)、Band、Study Hall(自習)、Food Science、Lifetime Fitness(体育)という授業を取っていました。副教科は学期ごとに授業変更をできるので、今学期からはYearbook 、Ceramics/Sculpt(陶芸/彫刻)、English、Choir(聖歌隊のような)、Band、American History、Algebraを取りました。私の学校はどうやらScienceのレベルが高いらしく、理科系を避けた結果、芸術系ばかりになってしまいました…。一番お気に入りのクラスは、Yearbookという卒業アルバムのようなものを製作するクラスです。この授業を通して、多くの人と知り合うことができたので、これから留学する人も取るべきだと思います！逆にFood Scienceはあまりオススメしません…。Food Scienceというのは家庭科＋理科という授業ですが、理科の部分が難しすぎてテストは毎回死んでいました。先生もあまりいい人ではなかったので、いい思い出がありません…。まぁ、学校によって多少内容は違うとは思いますが。また、今学期から新しくChoirの授業を取りましたが、ピアノ伴奏をさせてもらえることになったので、とても楽しみにしています。

あと約4ヶ月しかアメリカにいられませんが、今まで以上にたくさんのことを学びたいです。5Fのみなさん、英語劇の練習頑張ってください。アメリカから応援しています。
