アメリカに留学中の大重佑佳 さんから、三回目の留学報告が届きました。

こんにちは！ゆかです。ごめんなさい、レポートが遅れてしまいました。この間、風邪を引いてしまいました。ラクロスのチーム練習の後、汗でびしょび しょだったのですが、ジャケットなしで家まで歩いたんです。春になり、私はラクロスチームに入って、アタッカーになりました。ラクロスはプリキュア（日本 の女の子の間で有名なアニメです（笑））の中でしか、見たことがありませんでした。ラクロスというスポーツは本当に激しいスポーツです。この間の試合で は、私は相手チームの選手に押されて、足首を捻挫しました。足の具合ですか？大丈夫ですよ、だってその後私は得点を決めたんですもの（笑）！ですから、毎 回の練習や試合の前に足首にテーピングをしなければいけません。私の肌は敏感なので、テーピングで足首がかゆくなりますので、本当のところ私はテーピング をしたくありません。素晴らしいチームメイトと一緒にラクロスをプレイすることができるのも後わずかです。時間を無駄にしないようにがんばります。 

話は変わりますが、私はフロリダにASSE（留学団体）の旅行で行ってきました。マヤ、チヒロ、ノアに会いました。フロリダでの1週間は自分の人生の中で 最も短く感じた時間でした。私たちは、ディズニーワールド、ユニバーサルスタジオ（ハリー·ポッター！）、シーワールド、ケネディ宇宙センターに行きまし た。ユニバーサルスタジオに行ったとき、セイカが私たちに会いに来てくれました！びっくりしたんですが、ミッキーマウスやミニーマウスなどのキャラクター と挨拶することはアメリカではあまり人気ではありません。私とMayaは、わずか10分の待ち時間でキャラクターたちと写真を撮ることができました。（こ れときの写真はレポートと一緒に送ります）私のiPhoneはその時にとった写真でいっぱいになって、もうほかのものを保存する余裕がないくらいです。

私たちの学校は毎年、インターナショナルナイトを行います。学生（もちろん、私を含めて！）は、外国についての各ブースでのプレゼンテーションで競い合 い、その国の料理を食べました。私は自分のおばあちゃんから着物の着方を教わったので私は着物を着て、私の友人は私の弓道用の袴を着ました。彼女はとても 喜んで、「私は戦士（ウォーリアー）よ」といったノリでたくさん自分の写真を撮っていました！プレゼンテーションの結果はというと、なんと！私たちが優勝 してしまいました！！！ 

私はこの学期で芸術とグローバルイシュー（国際問題）を取りました。私は両方の科目がお気に入りで、本当に良い時間が過ごせています。特に、グローバルイ シューのクラスでは、私たちはテロについて学んでいます。私は固定観念（ステレオタイプ）をいったん捨て去り、考える必要があることを学びました。 

私は、今学期は本当に忙しくしています。先ほどお話しした通り、私はラクロスチームに参加したので非常に多くのイベントがあります。最初、私がここに来た ときに、自分のスピーキング能力のなさに困っていました。ですが、今となっては、そのような心配はありません。残りの留学生活を十分に楽しむことができる だけの力が付いたと思っています。こちらに来てほぼ9ヶ月が経過しましたが、シニアプロム、ジュニアプロム、シニアボランティアの日、卒業式などのイベン トがまだ残っています。きっと、楽しいイベントとなると思います（笑）！  

英語劇がうまくいったそうですね！みんなの写真を見ていると私もなんだかうれしくなっちゃいました（笑）。 
また6月にレポートを送ります。それではまた！ 

Hi! This is Yuka. I’m sorry that I sent my report late. I caught a cold because I walked to home without my jacket though I broke out in sweat after lacrosse team practice in the rain. Spring season has come and I joined Lacrosse team and became an attacker. I have only seen lax in プリキュア (Japanese famous anime among girls lol) Lax is a really agressive sport. In the last game, I was pushed away and sprained my ankle. I’m fine because after that I scored!!! hehe Therefore I need to tape my ankle everytime before practices and games. Actually I don’t want to do it because my skin is sensitive and the taping makes my ankle itchy. Spring season that I can be with my awesome teammates is too short, so I will try not to waste time.

Btw, I had ASSE trip to Florida. I met Maya, Chihiro, and Noa there. I’m sure that the week in FL was the shortest week in my life. We went Disney World, Universal Studios (Harry Potter!), Sea World, and Kennedy Space Center. When we went to Universal Studios, Seika came to see us! Surprisingly, greeting with characters like Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse is not popular in the US. I and Maya lined up for only 10 minutes to take pictures with them at the same time (I sent a pic with this.) My iPhone has no space anymore because There are a bunch ton of pictures in there. 

Our school carries out International Night every year. Students (of course including me!) competed having presentations in each booth about foreign countries and ate foods. I learned how to wear kimono from my grandma so I wore kimono and my friend wore my hakama for Japanese archery. She looked so excited and took lots of selfie on snapchat like “I AM A WARRIOR” Finally, we got the first prize!!! 

I took art and global issues in this semester. I love both and I have really good time. Especially in global issues class, we are studying about terrorism. I learned we need to break the stereotype. 

I have really great busy time in this quarter. As I said, I joined lax team and I have so many events. At first when I came here, I faced my lack of speaking ability. Now, I’m not. I hope I deserve to enjoy the rest of my life in here. Almost 9 months have passed but events such as senior prom, junior prom, senior volunteering day, and graduation are still waiting for me. I’m sure I can enjoy! 🙂

I heard that the English play has been successful! Lots of pictures of the girls made me happy 🙂

アメリカに留学中の砂山千絢さんから、三回目の留学報告が届きました

こんにちは、千絢です。ごめんなさい。前回にレポートを送ってからだいぶ時間が経ってしまいました。今回のレポートのことを忘れていた間、本当に 色々なことがありました。まずみなさんにお伝えしたいことは、私は今オクラホマ州にステイしているということです。以前、オクラホマ州はネイティブアメリ カンの保護居留地でした。ですから今なお、多くのネイティブアメリカンがここオクラホマ州に住んでいます。ある日、私はネイティブアメリカンの女性の家を 訪ねました。彼女の家には多くのネイティブアメリカンの物がありました。例えば、鹿の首、ネイティブアメリカンの絵、動物の骨で作られた首飾り等です。そ うしたネイティブアメリカンの品々を見た後、私はネイティブアメリカンの人たちというのは動物、文化、先祖に対して深い尊敬の念を持っていると感じまし た。また、彼らの精神は私たち北海道の先住民族であるアイヌの精神と似ているなと感じました。ネイティブアメリカンもアイヌも何事も無駄にしないのです。 彼らの文化から私たちの生活の中でいかに物を無駄にしないで活用するかということを学ぶべきでしょう。

ところで、ロデオを見たことがありますか？ロデオはオクラホマ州では人気のスポーツです。ロデオというのは、皆さんが考えるような暴れ牛に乗ることだけの スポーツではありません。７～８の競技で構成されています。Bull riding：跳ねる牛に8秒間乗る競技、Barrel racing：三角形に置かれた3つのバレル（樽）を馬で走って回ってくるスピードを競う、Team roping：二人のカウボーイが1組となり、一人目が馬上から子牛の角の周囲にロープをかけ、もう一人が子牛の後ろ両足にロープをかけて、ロープがピン と張るまでの時間を競う、Saddle bronc：鞍が付いた馬に8秒間乗る競技、Bare back：鞍がない跳ねる馬に8秒間乗る競技、Calf roping ：投げ縄で子牛を捕らえその脚を縛る、Steer wrestling：走っている馬の上から、雄の若牛に飛びついて首をひねって引き倒すまでの時間を競う。まあ、どの競技をするかは場所やその時々により ます。ある日、ホストシスターと今は別のところに住んでいるもう一人のシスターと一緒にロデオを見に行きました。私たちが会場に着いた時にはCalf ropingをやっていました。Calf ropingはロープを使って、子牛を捕まえる競技です。Calf ropingを見ていると悲しくなります。子牛を引き倒して、ロープで足を縛り上げるんですよ。個人的には、Barrel racingとBull ridingを見るのが好きです。Bull ridingはとても危険な競技ですが、観戦するのはとても面白いです。別の日には、PBR（プロのBull Riding）をホストファミリーと見に行きました。とても面白いイベントでした。ロデオというのは、スポーツの枠に収まらない、エンターテイメントの一 種ですね。ちなみに、ライダーたちはかなりのイケメンです（笑）。

話は変わりますが、３月にプロムに行ってきたんですよ！残念なことに、男の子と一緒にプロムには行けなかったのですが、友達と大いに楽しみました！プロム は基本的にはダンスパーティーなので、友達とダンスをし、食べ、写真を撮っていました。プロムの後、私と友達はウォルマートにドレスを着たまま行って、写 真を撮りました。ただ単に、プロムに行ってきたことを見せびらかしかっただけなんですけど（笑）。私が行ったプロムは、最初で最後のプロムでしたが、最高 でした！パートナーとなる男の子はいなかったとしても、本当に最高でした（笑）。

それ以外には、友達とJoe Nichol（カントリーシンガー）のコンサートに行き、ホストシスターとソフトボール観戦をしたり、たき火をしたり、ドライブをしたり、釣りをしたりし ました。正直なところ、日本に戻りたくないです。きっと、ホストファミリーや友達に会えなくて寂しくなるだろうと思います。みんなが私と会えなくなるのは 寂しいねと言ってくれる度に、もう一年ここにいてもっともっとたくさんのことを経験できたらいいのにと思ってしまいます。でも、私は５月８日にここの学校 を卒業して、今月日本に戻ります。時間ってこんなにも早く過ぎるものなのですね…。

とにかく、後悔することがないように残されたアメリカでの生活を満喫したいと思います。それでは、またすぐにお会いしましょう！

Hello, this is Chihiro. I am sorry that it has been a while since I sent the last report. During I was forgetting about this report, I have gone through a lot. First, I want you to know about is I am staying in the state of Oklahoma. The state of Oklahoma was reservation of Native Americans. So even now, many Native Americans lives in Oklahoma. On the other day, I visited a Native American woman’s house. There are many Native Americans stuffs in her house like deer neck, pictures of Native Americans, and necklace which made of animal bones and so on. After seeing the Native Americans’ stuffs, I thought that Native Americans are very respectful for animals, culture, and ancestors. Also, I think Aynus'(アイヌ) spirit is similar to Native Americans’ spirit. This is because they don’t waste anything. I think we should learn how to not waste things in our life from their culture.

Have you ever seen rodeo? Rodeo is a popular sport in Oklahoma. Rodeo is not one sport. It consists of about 7 or 8 events, which are Bull riding, Barrel racing, Team roping, Saddle bronc, Bare back, Calf roping, and Steer wrestling. It depends on place and events though. One day, I went to see the rodeo with my host sister and other sister who is not living in my house. When we arrived at there, they were playing calf roping. Calf roping is an event which people catch calf with using rope. To see the Calf roping makes me sad because people flip the calf over and tie their legs together with the rope. In my opinion, I like to watch Barrel racing and Bull riding. Bull riding is very dangerous sport, but just watching it is pretty interesting. Oh, on the other day I went to watch PBR (Professional Bull Riding) with my host family. It was pretty cool event. I think Rodeo is not just a sport but it is kind of an entertainment. By the way bull riders are actually hot Lol.

Oh, by the way I went to “Prom” in March! Sadly, I didn’t go to prom with guy but I had much fun with my friends! Basically, prom was dance party so mostly I was dancing with friends, eating foods, and taking pictures. After the prom, I and my friends went to Walmart with wearing dress and took some pictures. It is just because we wanted to show us off Lol. The “Prom” was first and last experience for me and was awesome! Even I went to there without a partner Lol.

Other than that, I went to Joe Nichol’s concert (Joe Nichol is a country singer) with my friends, went to watch softball game, doing bone fire, driving around with my host sister, Going fishing and so on. Honestly, I don’t want to go back to Japan. Because I am sure I am going to miss my host family and friends. Every time they tell me that they are going to miss me, I really wish I could stay here one more year and experience a lot of things more and more. But I will graduate high school in here on May 8 and go back to Japan in this month. I can’t believe how fast time goes by . 

Anyway I will do my best for the rest of my American life without any regret. See you soon!

アメリカに留学中の湯谷奈菜さんから、四回目の留学報告が届きました。

こんにちは！お元気ですか？私は元気ですが、忙しいです。ですから、レポートのことをすっかり忘れてしまっていました。ごめんなさい。

留学の残りがたった２か月しかないなんて信じられません…。とても悲しいです。もっと時間がほしいです。こちらに来てから、私の英語はだいぶ上達したと思 います。最初は友達とうまく話せませんでした。最近では、スムーズに彼らと話すことができるようになりました。ですから、日本に戻る時、私はあまりうれし いと感じないでしょう。

学校では、陸上部に入りました！！！！！とっても楽しいです！私は長距離と、高跳び、そして４×１００Mリレーをやっています。なぜコーチが私を短距離の リレーの選手に選んだのかは分かりませんが、楽しんでいます。練習は厳しくて、私はシンスプリント（脛骨過労性骨膜炎）になってしまいました。本当にめ ちゃくちゃ痛いです。特に、走った後は痛みます。とっても厄介です！！！！唯一のいいことは、走っている時にはくるぶしの捻挫と比べればそれほど痛くない くらいことです。シンスプリントのせいで、走り終わった後はいつもヘトヘトに疲れ切ってしまいます。まあ、でも、陸上競技ができてうれしいです（笑）。

授業では、大体うまくやれていると思います。良いこととして、生物の先生が私がレポートを提出したり答えを言った後にいつも褒めてくれることです。授業で はこれまで苦労してきましたが、今では段々楽になってきました。友達とお互いにジョークを言い合ったり、馬鹿なことを言ったりということが日本にいたとき と同じよう普通にできるようになりました。自分がこの学校の生徒の一員となったような気がしています。

話は変わりますが、私の帰国日が決まりました。６月の末に帰国予定です。タイミングがちょっと悪いのですが、帰国日の前日はホストシスターの結婚式です。 忙しくなりそうですが、結婚式はワクワクしています！ホストファミリーにはさようならは言いたくありません…。ファミリーのみんなは私が本当にムリン家の 一員となったと言ってくれました。本当にうれしい反面、少し寂しくもあります。私はこの家を離れなければいけないのですから。もちろん、私は日本の家族に 会えることも楽しみですよ。でも、ここを離れるのはやっぱり寂しくなると思います…。残されたわずか２か月をホストファミリーと十分に楽しみたいと思いま す。

次のレポートが最後のレポートとなります。今回のレポートよりもたくさん書こうと思っています（笑）。読んでくださってありがとうございます。それでは、また！

Hello! How are you? I’m pretty good but I had really busy time. So I completely forgot about report. Sorry about that.

I cannot believe I only have 2 month left… It’s so sad because I need more time. My English got better since I came here. First time I couldn’t talk to friends well. In these days, I can talk to them smoothly. So, I will be not quite happy when I go back to Japan.

Aｔ　school, I’m in track team!!!!! It’s so fun! I’m doing distance, high jump and 4×relay. I don’t know why coaches put me in short distance relay, but I’m enjoying it. Practice is hard, I got shins sprint… It sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hurts. Especially, after running. It’s so annoying!!!! Good thing about it is not so hurts like an ankle splain while I’m running. Shin sprint always exhausted me after running. Anyway, I’m glad to doing track 🙂 

At the class, I’m doing okay maybe. Good thing is my biology teacher is always praise me after I present report and announce answer. I had hard time at class, but now it became easier. To joke each other with friend and to say silly things is became usual like when I was in Japan. I feel like I became a member of this school. 

By the way, my return date was decided. I’m gonna go back end of June. Unfortunately, the day before return is my host sister’s wedding. It’s gonna be so busy. But I’m excited about wedding! I don’t wanna say goodbye to host family… They said I became a real member of Mullin’s family. I was really happy and a little sad.　Because I know I have to leave. Of course I’m excited to meet family in Japan. But I will miss here… I’m gonna spend good time with them only 2 month.

カナダに留学中の山本 安佳莉さんから、四回目の留学報告が届きました。

みなさん、こんにちは！お元気ですか？私は元気いっぱいです。英語劇はどうでしたか？私も本当に観たかったです。

私は春休みの間、以前お世話になっていたホストファミリーの家に行ってきました。その後、私たちは友達とドラムへラーとジャスパーに旅行してきました。私 はそこにたった一日しか滞在しなかったですが、とても価値ある時間を過ごすことができました。またその旅行中、２台の車で１０時間のドライブをしたのです が、一台は大人だけ、もう一台は私たち学生だけでした。私たちの車の中はひっきりなしに、しゃべってしゃべってしゃべりまくっていましたので、本当にうる さかったです（笑）。博物館と湖に行きました。コテージに９人で泊まったので、２人の男の子たちは床とソファで寝ていました（笑）。もちろん、私たち女の 子たちは２段ベッドの上と下で寝ましたよ（笑）。私たちが泊まっていた場所は、バンフ国立公園でした。そこには、小さな町しかなく、まるでハリーポッター かファンタジーの世界にいるかのような場所です。余談ですが、ロッキー山脈を見たんですよ！私たちはゴンドラに乗って、山頂の景色を楽しんできました。カ ナダの自然って本当に素晴らしいですね。そして、カナダで一番高いところにあるスターバックスでコーヒーを飲みました。とても寒かったですが、真夜中には たくさんの流れ星を見ることができました。

最近理科の先生の温室に行っています。私たちは植物に水をあげています。ガーデニングにはまっちゃいました。私のホストファミリーの家には大きな庭はあり ません。時々、先生はガーデニングのワークショップをしてくれたりして、たくさんのことを教えてくれます。先生の温室で時間を過ごすのがお気に入りです。 それ以外にも、友達とボーリングや買い物に行きました。こちらに来てから、服をたくさん買ってしまったので、日本に戻る前にたくさんの荷物を送らなければ いけません。

今月、北星のクラスメートの真悠とスカイプで話しました。彼女とは大の仲良しです！彼女に会えなくて寂しいです。私たちは、学校のこと・家族のこと・友達のこと・嵐のことを話しました（笑）！日本の家族、友達、６Hのみんなに早く会いたいです。

今年もまた担任の先生は吉田先生ですね。きっと６Hはもっとパワフルなクラスになりそうです……。

日本に帰国するまで残り２か月しかありません。実は、こちらに来た時には、本当に日本に帰りたくてたまらなかったんです。でもいまは違います。カナダのことが大好きです！次のレポートが私の最後のレポートとなります。それではまた。

Hi guys! How are you doing? I’m pretty good. How was the English play? I really wanted to see that. 

I went to my old host family’s house during spring break. And then we went to the trip at Drumheller and Jasper with friend family. I stayed there for one day but, which was a substantial time for me. We almost spent in the car about for ten hours, we had two cars one of just adlts the other one was just students. There was really noisy in our car, talking talking talking…….lol We went to the museum and lake. And stayed nine people in a cottage so two guys slept on the floor and couch. lol. Of course girls slept on the top and bottom of a bank bed. Lol We stayed at Banff Natinal Park. There has a small town, seem words like “Harry Potter” or fantasyland. By the way I saw the Mountain Rocky!!! We took a gondola and enjoyed the view at the summit of the mountain. I was impressed by those of Canadian natures. And then I drank a coffee at the highest Starbucks in Canada. The weather was pretty cold, but we saw a lot of falling stars at midnight!

I go to my science teacher’s greenhouse these day. We give plants water. I’m hooked on a gardening. My host family’s house doesn’t have a big yard, an occasionally. He presents a workshop on gardening, he teaches many things for me. I like to spend his place. Also I go bowling or shopping with my friends. After came here I bought a lot of clothes, so I have to send baggages before I go back.

This month I talked Mayu on the skype, she is my best friend! I miss her. We talked about school, family, friends and ARASHI!!!! lol. I can’t wait to see my family, friends, and 6H!!

This year is also our homeroom teacher is Mr. Yoshida. I think 6H will be more powerful class…….

I only have two month. when I came here, I really wanted to go back to Japan, but now I don’t want. Any way I like Canada!!!!!!!

アメリカに留学中の上田涼さんから、四回目の留学報告が届きました。

こんにちは！涼です！みなさん調子はいかがですか？私は元気です。これから、この間のレポートから起こったことをいくつか紹介しますね。残念ながら、このレポートが私の最後のレポートとなります。時間が経つのは本当に早いですね。

まず、この間のレポートで日本人の交換留学生が１０日間だけ私のホストファミリーの家に来るとお話したことを覚えていますか？私と彼女が一緒に過ごした１ 週間をお話しますね。私と彼女はルームシェアをしたので、たくさんのことを話して、仲良しになりました。また必ず会うことも約束しました！彼女は本当に素 敵な子でした。私たちは、アリアナ•グランデのコンサート、テキサス•レンジャーズスタジアムツアーとロデオに行ってきました。特にアリアナ•グランデの コンサートは素晴らしかったです！彼女の声は本当に綺麗でした。私はアメリカでコンサートに行ったことがありませんでしたので、とても興奮しました。アメ リカでコンサートに行くというのはおそらく一生で一度の経験だと思います。本当に良い経験ができてとても幸せでした。 

そして、イースターのイベントがありました。私は、イースターを祝うために、私のホストブラザーのいとこの家に行きました。たくさんの豪華な料理がありま した。また、私はイースターエッグに色を塗り、庭に子供のためのイースターエッグを置きました。子供たちがまるでチーターが食べ物を狩りているかのように 卵を見つけるために庭を走り回っているのを見るのは楽しかったですね。 

そして次には、学校で春のダンスショーがありました！このショーには学校のダンスチームのメンバーと授業でダンスを取っている人が参加できます。私はダン スの授業を取っているので、そのショーに参加することができました。私は北星ではダンス部に入っていていますし、ダンスをすると楽しいので本当に良い時間 を過ごしました！もちろん、練習も含めて、ダンスはとても楽しかったです！私は8人だけがステージの真ん中で踊ることができるダンスパートに選ばれまし た！やっぱり、私はステージで踊るのが大好きです！このショーもまた良い思い出の一つとなりました。

話は変わりますが、両親が中国出身の新しい友人を得ました！彼女はアメリカで生まれたので、実際にはアメリカ人です。彼女は中国語も話すことができ、また 日本にも興味があります。私たちは常にお互いの文化を紹介しあい、最近、私は彼女から中国語を学んでいます。新しい言語を勉強するのはとても楽しいです。 そして、先週の土曜日、私たちは買い物に行きました！そして、私たちは初めてアジア市場に行ってきました。日本のもの、韓国のものと中国のものがたくさん ありました！面白い場所がありました。そして、私はそこでトコロテンとたい焼きを買いました。アメリカでトコロテンを食べることができて幸せでした。 

最後に、英語劇の写真を見ました。正直に言うと、友達の多くが英語劇に出ていたので、見てみたかったです。しかし、彼女たちが劇を作り上げたことが本当に うれしいです！私は英語劇を一生懸命やっていた私の友人のおかげで、勇気が湧いてきて「私も留学を成功させるんだ」と思うことができました！みんな、あり がとう！私は後大体４０日後に日本に戻ります！私はアメリカ人の友人が大好きですし、きっと日本に戻ったら彼らに会えなくて寂しく感じると思います。しか し、私はやはり日本に戻りたいです。なぜなら、私は日本の友達も北星のことも一番大好きだから！だから私は日本に戻ってみんなに会えることを心待ちにして います。北星に行きたい気持ちをうまく言葉で説明するすることができないくらいです。みんなと再会した時には私におもいっきりハグしてください（笑）。お 読みいただき、ありがとうございました。

Hey! it’s Ryo! How’s it going?? i’m good! i’m gonna talk about some events. and unfortunately this report will be my last report. i really think time is going so fast.

first, do you remember i told you that another Japanese foreign exchange student will come my host family’s house for just 10 days on my last report? i’m gonna talk about one week when i and she spent together. i and she was sharing same room so we were talking about many things! and we could be really good friends. also we promised we’ll definitely meet again! she is such a nice girl. and we went to Ariana Grande concert, Texas Rangers stadium tour and Rodeo. especially Ariana Grande concert was fabulous!! Her voice was still beautiful. And I had never been to American concert so I was so excited. I was so happy I had really good experience because I will be not able to go to the American concert again in the future.

And next I had event of Easter. Then I went my host brother’s cousin’s house to celebrate Easter. There are so many nice meals. Also I colored Easter eggs and I putted Easter eggs for children in the garden. That was fun to watch because children were running around the garden to find eggs like cheetah is hunting food.

And next, I had dance spring show at the school! The show could join only dance team members of school and people who are taking dance class. I’m taking dance class that’s why I could in there. I’m member of dance club in Hokusei and dancing makes me happy so I spent really good time! Of course the dance was so fun including practice! Also I was chosen a dance part which only 8 people can dance in the middle of stage! I still love to dance on stage! That’s one of good memory as well.

By the way I got a new friend who parents are from China! She was born in America so she’s actually American. but she can speak also Chinese and she’s interested in Japan. so we’re always sharing each other’s culture and recently i’m learning Chinese from her. It’s really fun to get new language. And last Saturday, we went shopping! Then We went to Asian market for the first time. There are so many Japanese stuff, Korean stuff and Chinese stuff! There was exciting place. And I got Tokoroten and Taiyaki at there. I was happy I could eat Tokoroten in America.

Finally, I saw some pictures of English play. To be honest I wanted to see it because as you know there are many my friends in the English play’s cast. But I’m really glad they made it!!! I could think “I have to succeed this study abroad too” thanks to my friends who were doing their best in the English play! Thank you! I’ll be Japan about 40 days later! I love my American friends and I’m sure I’m gonna miss my American friends. But I still wanna go back to Japan because I still love my Japanese friends, and Hokusei the best! So I’m so excited to see y’all that I can’t even describe how much do I wanna go school. I expect y’all gonna give me very nice hugging. Lol:) thank you for reading.

アメリカに留学中の髙田侑美さんから、四回目の留学報告が届きました。

みなさん、こんにちは！お元気ですか？私は絶好調です。今回が４回目のレポートとなります。ということは、日本を出発してから８か月たったという事 です。今までも何度も言ってきたことではありますが、やはり今年は時間が経つのが早いです。まあ、とにかくこれまでのところアメリカでの生活を楽しんでい ます。

今月は素晴らしい一か月でした！お話ししたいことがたくさんあります！最初に、陸上の練習が今月から始まりました。練習は正直厳しいですが、水泳の練習の方が何倍も辛かったです。今のところ、陸上はうまくいっています。

この間、プロムへの誘いを受けました。プロムは、留学中にやりたかったことの一つでしたので、誘われた時はとてもうれしかったです！どうやって誘われた か、お話ししますね。自分の部屋でゆっくりしていた時、友達が「一緒に買い物に行こう」とメールをくれましたんです。そしてしばらく、買い物に出かけまし た。家に帰ると、リビングに大きなポスターが貼ってあることに気づきました。それは、一種のゴミ集め競争の指示でした。最後のポスターを見つけると、その ポスターには「ジュニア―プロムに一緒に行ってくれるかい？」と書かれてありました。（私たちのプロムはジュニア―プロムと呼ばれています。）もちろん、 私は可愛く「イエス」と答えました。どのように返事をしたかと言うと、お菓子と６０個の風船に日本語・タイ語・デンマーク語・ポルトガル語で「はい」と書 かれた小さな紙を入れて彼の車に置きました。とにかく、プロムが素敵なものになるといいなと思っています。

2週間前、Moabに行きました。そこは、ユタ州にある綺麗な場所で、ホストファミリーと家族旅行として行きました。私たちはハイキングをして、有名な岩 の橋を見ました。4日間の日程でしたが、ホストファミリーと素敵な時間を過ごすことができました。家族旅行から帰ってきた翌日、私はASSEの旅行でカリ フォルニアに行きました。この旅行は51人の様々な国からの留学生と一緒の旅でした。その旅行で4人の日本からの留学生と会いました。そのうちの2人は北 星の生徒です。私たちは7日間カリフォルニアに滞在して、有名な観光地に行きました。この旅行のことをすべてお話ししたいのですが、長くなりそうなので全 部を話すのはやめておきます。その代わりに、たくさんの写真を送ります。少しだけカリフォルニア旅行のことをお伝えしますね。どれだけ楽しかったかを考え てみてください（笑）。

カリフォルニア旅行で、たくさんの観光地に行ったので、日程的に忙しかったです。初日、サンタモニカビーチに行って、買い物をして、蝋人形館（ワックス ミュージアム）に行きました。そのミュージアムにはたくさんのハリウッドスターの人形がありました。かわいい服を買いました。2日目は、別のビーチに行っ て、サンディエゴの動物園に行きました。とっても嬉しかったのは、1年ぶりにビーチで行けたことです。3日目は、ハリウッドにあるStar Walk of Fameに行きました。そこには、ハリウッドスターの名前が刻まれたたくさんのピンクの星がありました。その後、ユニバーサルスタジオハリウッドに行きま したが、たった5時間しか遊べませんでした。短時間でしたが、友達と素敵な時間を過ごすことができました。4日目は、カリフォルニアのディズニーランドと アドベンチャーパークで一日中過ごしました。カリフォルニアにいる友達とも会いました。カリフォルニアのディズニーランドに行くことは私の夢でした。今で も夢の中にいるような気分です。ディズニーランドに住みたいなぁ。5日目は、サンフランシスコに移動しました。長距離のドライブでしたが、それでもOKで した。サンフランシスコでは、ゴールデンブリッジ、チャイナタウン、アルカトラズ島（監獄）、そして、日本街に行きました。日本街ではたくさんの本物の日 本食を食べました。そして、最終日には、リムジンに乗りました。この7日間は私にとってかけがえのないものとなりました。

この旅行を通して、様々な国からきた留学生と友達になりました。今はなんだか、国際的な人間になったような気がします（笑）。将来、世界中にいる友達に会いに行きたいと思います。こうして他の留学生たちと交流する機会が持てたことがとてもうれしいです。

結局レポートが長くなってしまってごめんなさい。手短に書こうと思ったのですが、出来ませんでした。ここから離れるまで、６０日しかありません。これからも楽しもうと思います。それではまた。

Hi guys! How are you guys doing? I’m pretty good. This is my 4th report. Which means it’s been 8months since I left Japan. I know I’ve said about this so many time but let me say. This year has been so fast. Anyway, I’m having fun in USA so far.

Well, this month was an amazing month! I want to tell you a lot of thing about my experiences! First of all my track practice was started this month. Practice is hard but to be honest, swim practice was way harder than track practice. I’m doing well at track.

The other day, I got ask to prom. You know, prom is one of dream of study abroad. So I was so happy when I got ask! When I was chilling in my room, my friend text me that she want to go to shopping with me. Then we went to shopping for while. When I got home, I found a big poster in the living room. It was kind of like scavenger hunt. After find last poster, it said “Will you be my date to junior prom?” (Our prom is called junior prom) Of course, I answered “Yes” on cute way. What I did is I putted candies and little paper which say “Yes” in Japanese, Thai, Danish and Portuguese in the 60 balloons and left them on his car. Anyway, I hope our prom will be great!

2 weeks ago, I went to Moab where is the beautiful place of Utah as family trip with my host family. We hiked to see famous bridge of rock. I had great 4 days with my host family. The day after family trip, I went to California as an ASSE trip with 51 exchange students from all over the world. At there, I met 4 exchange students from Japan. 2 of girls are from this school. We stayed California for 7days. We went to famous place of California. I would love to tell you about everything but it might be very long so I’m going to sent you bunch of pictures and I’ll tell you little bit about my California trip. So please guess how much did we have fun haha

At California trip, we went to a lot of place therefore we were so busy. 1st day, we went to Santa Monica beach, shopping and wax museum. There are a lot of Hollywood star. I got pretty dress. 2nd day, we went to the other beach and zoo in San Diego. I was so happy because I went to beach for the first time in a year. 3rd day, we went to Star Walk of Fame where is in Hollywood. Star Walk of Fame has a lot of pink stars which has name on it. And then, we went to Universal studio Hollywood. Actually, we just stayed there only for 5 hours. But I had great time with my friends. 4th day, we went to Disney Land and Adventure park all day. I met my friend who lives in California. TO go to California Disney Land was my dream. So I still feel like I’m dreaming… I wish I can live there… 5th day, we moved to San Francisco. It was long drive to go there but it was okay. In San Francisco, we went to Golden Bridge, China town, Alcatraz (Prison) and Japanese town. We ate bunch of REAL Japanese foods there.　And last day, we rode limousine. This 7days were so precious for me! 

Throw this trip, I made a lot of friends from all over the world. Now, I feel like I’m very international person haha. In my future, I want to visit all of my friends. I’m glad that I had good opportunity to meet other exchange students.

I’m sorry my report is very long after all. I was trying to write short but it was impossible for me. Only about 60 days left till I leave here. So I’m going to have a lot of fun!! See you in next report.

アメリカに留学中の佐藤麻理奈さんから、三回目の留学報告が届きました。

みなさん、マリナです。お元気ですか？レポートの提出が遅れてごめんなさい。2月中に送るつもりだったのですが、なんだか忙しかったんです。ですか ら遅れました。ＯＫ。今は3月の終わりですが、私がいるカリフォルニアはいまだに熱いです。まるで夏です！札幌は寒いのは知っています（笑）。もちろん、 カリフォルニアは雪がありません。雪がない冬を過ごしたなんて信じられません（笑）！

以前のレポートで、ホストファミリーにつちえお話ししていないと思いますので、少し紹介したいと思います。ホストファミリーはマザーと2人のシスターで す。ファミリーはメキシコ人です。マザーはとても面白い人です。彼女のおかげで私はいつも笑顔でいられますし、本当に私のことを気にかけてくれます。私が 何か困っていれば、マザーがいつも助けてくれます。私は彼女のことを“お母さん”と呼んでいます（笑）。2人のシスターですが、私とシスターのお姉さんは 同じ学校に通っています。彼女は勉強のことで私を助けてくれます。そして、もう一人のシスターは小学生で、とってもかわいいんです。

春休みにメキシコに行ってきました。アメリカとメキシコの国境線に来た時に、とーーーーってもワクワクしました。いままで国境線に行ったことがなかったん です！そして、メキシコに到着しました。ホストファミリーの叔母さんがメキシコに住んでいますので、会いに行きました。メキシコで話されている言語は何か 知っていますか？スペイン語なんです。スペイン人がたくさんいるんです。何か奇妙な感覚になりました（笑）。ですから、叔母さんは英語を話しません。ホス トシスターがスペイン語を教えてくれましたので、彼女とお話しすることができました！もう、私はスペイン語を話すことができます（笑）。そして、別の叔母 さんがメキシコ料理を作ってくれました。とってもおいしかったです。メキシコ料理が気に入っちゃいました。一番のお気に入りはタコスです。あ、タコスタン ドにも行ったんですよ。一種のファストフードの店なんですが、タコスしか売っていません。私はシェフの真ん前に座りましたので、タコスの作り方を間近で見 ることができました！いい経験でした（笑）。その後、ビーチに行きました。叔母さんの家はビーチのすぐ近くなので、家から海を見ました。日が沈むのも見ま した。綺麗でした。夕日って素敵ですね（笑）。ビーチには壁がありました。その壁はメキシコとアメリカの国境線です。サンディエゴが見えました。綺麗でし た。メキシコは楽しかったです。またいつか行きたいですね。

ちょっと聞いてください！瑞穂、晴乃、侑美に会ったんですよ。彼女たちは北星女子高校のクラスメートです。再会できたことがとっても嬉しかったです。最後 に会ってから8か月ぶりでしたから。すーーーーーーっごく楽しかったです。彼女たちのことが大好きです。日本でまた再会できることを本当に楽しみです。

アメリカにいられるのが後2か月となります。正直な思いとしては、もーーーっと長くアメリカにいたいと思っています。残り少ない滞在時間を考えると悲しく なります。ホストファミリーと友達にさようならを言いたくありません。でも、たった2か月ですが楽しく過ごそうと思います。

Hi guys I’m Marina. How are you doing guys? I’m sorry for late report. I supports to send report in February. But I was kind of busy. So I was late  OK. It’s end of March now. My state California is still hot. I feel like summer! I know Sapporo is cold. Haha Of course California have no snow. I can’t believe spend time without snow! Haha

I think I didn’t talk about my host family before, so I gonna talk about them I have host mother and two host sisters. And my host family is Mexican. My host mother is so funny. She always makes me smile. And she really care about me. If I got trouble, She help me. I’m calling like “Mom” to her. Haha and I have two host sister. Me and older sister go to same school. She help me about study. And my younger host sister is elementary school student. She is so cute.  

I went to Mexico during spring break. When I was line America to Mexico, I was soooo excited. Because I never been to line of country! Then I arrived Mexico. My host family’s aunt live in Mexico. I met her. Do you know language in Mexico? It’s Spanish. There have so many Spanish. I feel was like strange. Haha so she can’t speak English. My host sister taught me Spanish. So I could talk to aunt! Now I can speak Spanish! Lol 
and Other aunt made me Mexican food. That was so yummy. I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD<33 my favorite is Tacos XD oh, I went to Taco stand. It’s like kind of like fast food but only Tacos. I was sit in front of chef. So I could see how to make tacos! That was good experience. Haha and then I went to beach. They live close to sea. So I saw sea in the house. And I saw sunset. That was beautiful. I love sunset. Haha and in the beach, there had wall. Wall is line of country Mexico to America. I could see Sun Diego. That was beautiful too. Mexico was so fun. So I wanna go again XD

OH yea guess what! I met Mizuho, Haruno, Yumi. They are my classmate in Hokusei Girl’s high school. I was so happy because it’s been since 8 months I last met them. It was sooooo much fun. I love them<33 I’m really excited to meet them again in Japan! 

I have only 2 months to spend in America. Honestly I need more  I wanna stay America moooore. That makes me sad. I don’t wanna say “bye” to my host family and friends. But I gonna have fun only 2 months.

アメリカに留学中の桃井雛子さんから、三回目の留学報告が届きました。

こんにちは！雛子です。昨年の夏からワシントン州にステイしています。こちらはほんの短い冬が終わり、暖かくなってきています。今年の冬は信じられ ないくらいに過ごしやすかったです！！雪が降ったのはたった一度で、全然寒くもなりませんでした。このような冬があることを今まで知りませんでした。

こちらでの生活を楽しんでいます。合唱部に入っていて、5月にはディズニーランドに行って歌を披露することになっています。3曲歌って、ワークショップも します。ワークショップのために、ディズニーランドのバックステージのスタジオで私たちの歌を録音するんですよ！！すごいことだと思いませんか？？めちゃ くちゃワクワクしています！！私たちは昨日の夜、募金集めのためにダンスをしました。初めてのダンスだったのですが、私は忙しくて、全然踊ることができま せんでした…。でも、男の子が私をプロムに誘ってくれたので、もしかしたらプロムにその子と行って、プロムでダンスをすることができるかもしれません！

こちらでの生活が後3か月しかありません。悲しいです。本当に信じられません。私のホストファミリーはだんだんと私の本当の家族になってきましたし、学校 に通うこともごく自然なことになってきました。ですから、日本で生活をする自信がありません（笑）。でも、後3か月もあるので、こちらでやりたいことをこ れからするつもりですし、友達やホストファミリーと素敵な時間を過ごします。

次のレポートでは、ディズニーランドへの旅とプロムについて書きます！！今こうしてこのレポートに書くことを宣言しておけば、忘れないと思います…（笑）。

Hello! My name is Hinako and I’ve been living in Washington state since last summer. We had really short winter and it’s getting wormer now. This winter was incredibly easy!!! We got snow just one day and it didn’t get very cold:) I didn’t know there is a winter like that haha

Anyways, I’m having fun in here! I’m in choir and we are going to Disney land and show our songs in May!! We will have 3 shows and workshop. For the workshop, we will record our songs in studio in backstage of Disneyland!! Isn’t it cool?? I’m really excited!! We held dance for fund raising last night. That was my first dance, but I was too busy and I couldn’t dance at all… But a guy asked me for prom so maybe I will go to prom with him and hopefully I will be able to have time to dance at prom!

And sadly, I only got 3 month left… I really can’t believe. My host family became my real family, and it became usual life to go to school in here, so I’m not sure I can live in Japan haha But I still have 3 month, so I’m going to do everything I want to do in here and spend great time with friends and family!!

In next report, I will write about Disneyland trip and prom!! I promise now in this report so that I won’t forget… Haha

アメリカに留学中の小武芽生さんから、三回目の留学報告が届きました。

こんにちは、小武芽生です。

ごめんなさい、レポートの提出が遅れました。

2015年が始まったばかりですが、私はすでに2015年を楽しんでいます。

その理由は前回のレポートでもお伝えした通り、ソフトボールチームに入っているからです。トライアウトが行われて、私はコーチに学校代表のチームの一員に選んでもらいました。

私以外の学校代表のチームメートはソフトボール経験者ですので、私はチームメートよりもたくさん練習して努力しなければいけません。努力は決して無駄になりません。ですから私は厳しい練習を耐えているという感覚はありません。

ソフトボールのコーチは私の友達のお父さんで、その友達もソフトボールの選手です。彼らは私に信じられないくらい優しくしてくれます。

例えば、ソフトボールの試合の時にはいつも私を家まで送ってくれて、一緒にショッピングに行ったり、夕食を食べたり、今度一緒にアリゲーターパークに行くことになっています。

私に“私たちって、あなたのホストファミリーみたいね！”って言ってくれましたし、実際私もそう思ってしまうことがあります。

こうして親切にしてもらえることに本当に感謝しています。

すみません、レポートに何を書いていいか思いつきません…。次回のレポートでは何か面白いことを考えておきます。

I’m sorry that I couldn’t send my report on time…

This year just begun last month but, I have already enjoyed 2015.

This is because I belong to softball team as I said last report. We did tryouts, I was chosen good team by coach so, I could take part in varsity team.

Everyone has experience of softball except me in varsity team so I’m sure of I need more enough practice and effort than my teammate. I know that effort doesn’t cheat on me so I do not feel to bear hard practice.

My soft ball coach is my friend father and also my friend is softball player. His family is kind to me to unbelievable.

For example, they always drop me off at home when we have softball game, we went shopping and eating diner with me, and then we are going to go to the alligator park next time.

They told me”we are seems like your host family!” I though that I really think so.

I am so grateful for all the kindness.

I don’t know what I should write report… I will think about interesting report by next one.

アメリカに留学中の奥野和さんから、三回目の留学報告が届きました。

こんにちは、みなさんお元気ですか？前回のレポートの際には、レポートを遅れずに提出すると言っていたのですが…、遅れてしまいました（笑）。遅れてごめんなさい。

この一か月は本当に忙しかったです。実は私とファミリーは新しい家に引っ越したんです。私の荷物はそれほど多くないので自分の荷造りは大変ではなかったの ですが、台所・お風呂場・リビングのものを私が荷造りしたのですが本当に疲れました。作業中は、“ぜったい終わらないよー”と思っていました。荷造りも大 変でしたが、さらに私がヘトヘトになった原因は荷造りをした後に、学校に行っていたことです。私はこの1か月、宿題・テスト勉強・荷造りに優先順位をつけ ながら過ごさなければなりませんでした！！とても、ストレスがたまる日々でした。

キッチン用品を荷造りした後は料理を作ることができませんでしたので、“キングビュッフェ”と呼ばれるアジアの料理のビュッフェレストランに行きました。 私たちはたくさん食べるので、そこはお気に入りのお店です。たくさんの種類の料理を堪能できるんですよ！アジア料理店ではありますが、その店の料理の味は 完全にアメリカ風にアレンジされています（笑）。アメリカ風に味付けされたもののいくつかは私の口には合わないのですが、こうしてアメリカの人たちが家族 連れでアジア料理を食べにいくことは、私にとってうれしいことです。なんだか、日本を含めたアジアの文化が受け入れられているような気になるんですよね、 味付けはアメリカ風ではありますが。

ついに準備を入れると1か月かかった引っ越しが完了しました。おそらくこの引越しやそれに伴うやりくりが、アメリカでの一番つらい経験になったと思いま す。引っ越してから家から学校が遠くなってしまったので、通学に1時間かかることなりました。日本での通学時間は1時間半でしたのでそれに慣れてはいまし たが、こちらでただ1時間車に座っているだけなので、毎日疲れてしまっています。

新しい家に引っ越してから、私たちはenchiladasという名前のスペイン料理を作りました。ホストマザーの得意料理はスペイン料理とイタリア料理ですので、アメリカにいるのにアメリカ料理をあまり食べていない気がします（笑）。

話題を変えます。こちらは気温が非常に低い日が続いています。朝はマイナス30度になることもありますが、強風のため雪は積もりません。それでも木々は雪のせいなのか凍っているのか、白くなっています。昼間に木の写真を撮ってみたのですが…。春はまだ先でしょうか。

2週間前、私たちは9月のホームカミングと比べるとそれほどビッグイベントというわけではないのですが、冬のホームカミングがありました。この期間には、 スプリットウィークを行います。スプリットウィークというのは、曜日ごとにテーマを設定して面白い服装をすることです。月曜日は白い服の日でした。バス ケットボールチームの女の子はみんな白いシャツを着て天使になりました。すごくかわいかったです。残念ながらその様子を写真に撮り忘れてしまいました。も う！火曜日はヒーローの日でした。美術の先生がキャプテンアメリカの服装をしていました。その姿を観たとき私はびっくりして開いた口がふさがりませんでし た（笑）。ごめんなさい、水曜日以降のテーマを忘れてしまいました。他に覚えている事と言えば、ペップラリー（激励会）と呼ばれる大きな集会をしました。 その集まりの際に、盛り上がるイベントをしました。チアリーダーが来たり、トイレットペーパーで「雪だるま作ろう（Do you wanna build a snow man）」をやったり、ゼリー大会をやったり。すごく面白くて盛り上がりました。その後、スノーダンスと呼ばれるダンスパーティーをしました。このパー ティーはフォーマルなものではないので、ドレスアップはしませんでした。みんな楽しそうで、それを見ていると私も楽しくて幸せでした。ホームカミングは最 高ですね！

皆さんにお伝えしておかなければいけない、ビッグニースがあります。何と！ホストファミリーと一緒にダイエットを始めました！！私たちはヨガ・エアロビな どを一緒にやっています。最初の1週間は、炭水化物、糖類、油をとらないようにしました。とても辛かったですが、このダイエットプロジェクトのいいところ は24時間だけ何を食べてもいい時があることです。私はその24時間を金曜日に設定して、大量のジャンクフードを買い込みました。しかし、そのフリーの日 のせいで、体重を落としたのにもかかわらず、太ってしまいました！！24時間何を食べてもいいというのは、このプロジェクトのいい点ではないですよね… （笑）。

いずれにしても、日本に戻って北星の制服を着るためには体重を落とさなければいけません！！！2月24日から陸上のシーズンが始まります。私もチームに入って、体重を落とします！！

この間、ホストファザーとシスターと一緒に合気道の練習に行ってきました。ホストファミリーは柔道の練習に行くのが好きなんですが、その日はオーストラリ ア人の男性が合気道の練習会を開いていました。私たちはその練習に行くことにして、私にとってもいい経験になりました。練習場はじめじめとしていて、日本 の夏を思い出しました。でも、私はアメリカのからっとした空気が好きですけどね（笑）。

ところで、みなさん、バレンタインデーはどのように過ごしましたか？私の学校では、ボーイフレンドがいる女の子は赤いバラをもらっていました。ですが、ほ とんどの生徒たちは特別なことをしませんでした。私のホストファミリーはイベント好きなので、クッキーを作りました。私も何か作りたかったんですが、プロ ムのためのお金を稼ぐために食べ物と飲み物を売る売店を手伝わなくてはいけませんでした。その日は家に着いたのが夜の10時でしたので、何も作ることがで きませんでした。でも、マザーがキスというチョコレートを使ってバラの作り方を教えてくれました。キスはアメリカで人気のお菓子です。キスで作ったバラを 友達と先生方にプレゼントしたら、喜んでくれました。ちょっとしたお菓子を作る時間がない時にはぴったりのプレゼントとなりました。

これが私の3回目のレポートの最後の段落になります。数学の先生に誘われて数学の大会出場しました。結果はというと、私たちの学校は勝つことはできません でした。ですが、とても楽しい経験をすることができました。大会のために幾何学と代数を勉強しました。私は英語で幾何学を勉強したことがなかったので、数 学用語を理解するのに苦労しました。楽しい経験でしたので、こうしたことであれば毎日やってもいいくらいです。

先ほどは最後の段落と言いましたが、まだ続けます。この段落が本当に最後です。私の留学生活も残り3か月となりました。信じられませんが、ホストファミ リーは私の帰国の準備を始めています。日本に送ってもらいたいものを聞いてくれたり、私の両親が好きなものを聞いてくれたり。実は私は日本に帰国すること を楽しみにしています。家族・友達に会いたいです。ですがそれと同じくらい、ホストファミリーともっと一緒にいたいと感じています。できることなら、夏休 みを一緒に過ごしたい。私はホストファミリーと、ここノースダコタが大好きです。現実は3か月後には日本に戻らなくてはいけません。日本に戻ったら、私の 経験を皆さんに直接伝えたいと思います。レポートは残り1回書きますので、帰国する心境をみなさんにお伝えしたいと思います。

Hi:) How’s it going?
I know that I told you I was not going to be late this time… Well, maybe I’m a liar.haha I’m sorry to be late..

This one month was really busy because I moved to the new house with my host family for some reasons. My stuff was not so much, but I got tired of packing kitchen stuff, bathroom stuff, and living room stuff. To pack them seemed endless. I had never experienced this before, and one thing that made me so tired was that packing was after school. I had to think what to do first from Homework, studying for the test, or packing!!! That was really frustrating to me.

By the way, we couldn’t fix dinner after we packed kitchen stuff, so we went to Asian Buffet called “King Buffet”. We love to go there with our family cuz we eat a lot, and we can enjoy many kinds of food! Although it’s Asian restaurant, the tastes of the food that they have are totally Americanized.haha I don’t like some food because those are Americanized, but I’m so happy that American people like to go to Asian restaurant with their family because I feel like they accept Japanese culture even though those food are Americanized.

Finally, we’ve got done with moving, and it took one month to get it done. This new experience was probably the hardest thing ever in America Now, we take one hour to get to school. I used to take one and half hour to get to school in Japan, but I just sit in the car for one hour now, so I feel very tired everyday.

After we got to the new house, we made Spanish food called enchiladas. My host mother makes Spanish food and Italian food very often, so I feel like I don’t eat American food very much though I’m in America.haha

By the way, it has been very cold outside. Sometimes it gets lower than -30℃ in the morning, but doesn’t get snow because of the strong wind. Even so the trees are covered with something white. I took the picture of trees during the day time though…… I wonder when spring comes.

Two weeks ago, we had a winter homecoming which was not as big event as homecoming in September. In the winter homecoming, we had a spirit week. The spirit week is what we wear some funny clothes of the following themes which are depended on the day. Monday was a white clothes day, and every girls who are in the basketball team became the Angels using the white sheets which were super cute. What I did something really stupid was that I forgot to take picture of them. Dang it!!!!!! Tuesday was the hero day, and the art teacher in my school wore the costume of Captain America! I couldn’t close my mouth when I saw her.haha I don’t remember what the other themes were, but I remember that we had a big assembly called pep rally. In the assembly, we did some fun stuff which all the cheerleader came up with, such as do you wanna build a snow man with toilet papers?, JellO competition, and stuff like that. Those were really fun. After that, we had a Dance Party called “snow dance”. This dance party was not formal party, so we didn’t dress up. Everyone there looked so happy, and made me happy! I like homecoming!!

Here is a great information that I have to tell you. I started trying to lose weight with my host family!!! We did Yoga, aerobics, and so on. For the first week, we tried not to have carbs, sugar, and oils. That was really hard, but the good point of this diet project for me is that I can have 24 hours that I can eat any kinds of food. I decided to have the time on Friday, and I bought a bunch of junk food for my free day! However, because of the free day, I gained weigh again though I lost weight a lot!!!! I guess it’s not a good point of this project….haha

Anyway, I have to lose weight before I go back to Japan for my school uniform!!!hahahaha The track season will be started on February 24th, and I’m gonna join the team so I will lose weight!!!

One day, I went to Aikido practice with my host father and sister. My host family likes to go to practice Judo, but the guy from Australia held an Aikido practice on that day. So we decided to go, and it was pretty good experience to me, too. The room was so humid and it reminded me Japanese summer…. I love American dry air a lot.haha

By the way, how was your Valentin’s day? In my host school, for the girls who have boyfriends got some red roses, but many students didn’t do anything special for the day. My host family likes to do any stuff for any events, so of course they made some cookies. I wanted to make something so badly, but I had concessions which are that students sell food or drink to make money for the prom. So I got home around 10 o’clock, and I couldn’t cook anything. However, my host mother told me how to make roses with kisses. Kisses are the tiny chocolates, and it is popular in America. I gave my friends and teachers the roses that I made, and they enjoyed them! I think that’s a good gift when I don’t have time to cook treats.

This is gonna be the last paragraph for my third report. I went to math meet because my math teacher invited me. Math meet is the competition of math. As a result, my school couldn’t win, but it was really really fun to do!!!! I loved it!! For the competition, we did geometry and algebra. I didn’t learn geometry in English, so I had some problems for the vocabulary. Anyways it was so good experience! I wish I could do this everyday.

Just kidding here is one more paragraph, and this is the last one. My American life is gonna be finished in 3 months. I can’t believe that, but my host family started to prepare for my leaving. They ask me what I want them to send to Japan, what my parents like, or stuff like that. Actually, I’m excited to go back to Japan and meet my family and friends, but I wish I could stay with my host family longer, and enjoy the summer vacation. I really love my host family and here, North Dakota. But I have to go back to Japan in 3 months! Well, I’m gonna share my experiences and moments when I go back there! I’m gonna write this report one more, so I’m gonna share how I feel about leaving here, again!haha
